Noctua NH-U12A chromax.Black, 120mm Single-Tower CPU Cooler (Black)

I recently purchased an NR200 case and using the wraith cooler, felt my CPU temps were not sufficient. Look up reviews and decided to bite the bullet with this tower cooler. Temps dropped more then 10 degrees and it is very quiet on light/medium loads. Definitely paid a premium for black but I am extremely pleased with this cooler.

I installed this cooler in a new computer build in April of 2022. I made sure to buy the black one since I didnt want the brown one in my completely no-windows case. Because reasons. Mostly, I didnt want to see brown fans every time I opened the case to clean it. Based on other reviews, Im not the only person who feels this way. I digress. The install was straightforward (although there are quite a number of steps compared to the old snap on coolers). Once inside the case, the cooler is whisper quiet and takes good care of my i7-12700K processor, even under load. A few things to note:

Honestly the fact that there is a single tower cooler with the performance of a dual cooler setup was perfect for me. I have never used Noctua before so I had no expectations. I waited for the Chromax edition of the NH-U12A to become available as I had a specific black and white theme going. Mounting was super easy with instructions, and this particular model came with the universal mounting bracket for 12th get intel boards and CPUs which was awesome. It was also much easier to mount than the CM Hyper 212 Evo which has been my go-to previously. There was just so much less guesswork than you get with the spring mount on that cooler.

Let me start by saying i got rid of a custom loop for this and i do not regret it one bit.

Replaced my fractal s+ 360mm aio with this on my ryzen 9 5900x, this cooler beat it by around 10c while being almost silent as well. I can’t recommend this cooler enough.

Impeccable performance, inaudible operation. Arguably the best smaller form factor air cooler on the market.

Jenlève une étoile pour linstallation qui ma obligée à devoir demander de laide, et donc retarder le montage de mon PC dune semaine. Le ventirad est incroyable et très efficace, certes, mais pour linstaller!!! Arrive un moment où deux grosses vis donnent limpression de stagner, de tourner dans le vide. Impossible à visser, et donc le ventirad ne tient pas une fois la carte mère mise debout!
