Noctua NH-U12A, Premium CPU Cooler with High-Performance Quiet NF-A12x25 PWM Fans (120mm, Brown)

I was in the middle of building a couple new higher-end PCs for my job, and there seemed to be a shortage of AIO liquid coolers, I have mainly used the Corsair H100 models, but was having a hard time finding any in stock.

First off, I can’t get over how massive it is, to where I wonder about the structural integrity of the motherboard. It actually has a warning that basically says be careful about transferring your pc with the air cooler attached bc there’s no telling what could happen. I imagine if someone were moving their office, they’d have to disassemble the air cooler first to be safe. And somehow the NH-15 is supposed to be bigger. Luckily, I have plenty of clearance with the Asus Tuf Z690 and Be Quiet 500dx case with the nh-u12a.

At first I wasnt sure about the brown color, but I think it goes really well with an all black rig (MSI Aegis pre-built, I know). However, any PC guy who takes a look inside knows brown is the color of quality.

On the ASUS Pro Art Z690 with G.Skill DDR5 memory, the memory is quite high off the motherboard. At first it looked like the fan was getting in the way. The fans are a little bigger than the radiator, and it was easy to move the memory-side fan up about an 1/8 to get clearance while still fully covering the radiator. I havent stressed the CPU too much yet but it is a very quiet setup. When I have things going on, as I still havent got around to putting the side back on the case, I dont hear it, I just feel the breeze from the fan.

No complaints whatsoever! The mounting hardware is really sturdy, the fans arent loud (not that it bothers me, Im mostly concerned with cooling performance), and for once I didnt cut my every other finger on the fins of a heatsink.

Easy installation. Went from overheating after a few minutes (90°c +) to barely breaking 60°c. Very impressed.
