North American Rescue Hyfin Vent Chest Seal, Original Version 2 Count (Pack of 1)

Great addition to any first aid kit if youre paranoid about chest wounds (I know I am, thanks media). Just remember that if you DONT have one of these in your kit, at the very least carry some garbage bags and tape to slap over a chest wound. Lung collapsing will kill you way before blood loss. If the vent works when you apply it, great. If it gets clogged by blood and the patient has a progressively harder time breathing, you will have to remove it to let the air out. If they start wheezing and cant breath you will actually have to stick a (hopefully gloved) finger in the puncture hole to try to let that air out before you slap the dressing back over. Bubbling blood coming out of the hole is a GOOD thing. It means the air is getting released.

I hope and Pray I never have to use it but it looks well put together as a Prior Combat Military Service Member.

I hope i will never have to use this product, but if i do I am sure it will perform. I am just a Retired Military man with some more than just basic field medical skills. I do know you need every drop of blood that your body has to keep healthy. I didnt rat the adhesion or ease of use because havent used it yet.

I keep in first aid. A must have if serious outdoorsman. Better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
