I just got this stand despite reading a few picky complaints in reviews about the stiffness of the hinges, finish and texture of the aluminum sandblasting. I am glad I did, because I love this stand. It feels rock solid, the stiffness of the hinges contributes to the rock solid feeling. I can type on the laptop without any feeling that it will move or collapse. I dont plan on moving taking it with me many places, so stiffness of the hinges doesnt bother me at all. As for the finish, its true that it doesnt precisely match the color and texture of my space gray MacBook Pro, but it looks fine to me.

I love the clean design and stability of this laptop stand! This felt like an indulgence to buy but now that I have it I see that it is a NECESSITY as I work from home! I love how the darker color matches my steel gray MacBook Pro.

Nice and strong

What I like about this laptop stand is that I can get my laptop much higher than most other laptop stands (about 10 inches). I like that both the height and angle are adjustable without feeling flimsy. The laptop stand looks great with its aluminum construction and it feels really solid. However, my only concern is that when you adjust the stand to get it really high, it places a lot of weight on the back of the stand and it is really easy to tip over. However, this concern is relatively mild. I place a keyboard on the bottom platform of the stand so I am not really super worried about it.
