Im very pleased with this enormous one kilogram tub of lysine powder. For years I used the Now Foods brand, but for whatever reason couldnt find it anymore, and was trepidatious about trying another brand. This is very good value for money. As a precaution to ensure freshness, I keep my lysine in the refrigerator since it takes me a while to get through the container. Medical professionals, both human and animal, disagree on the efficacy of vitamin supplements in the diet. Me, Im a believer. I have two cats with herpes, and lysine controls their runny eyes. I put 1/4 teaspoon in each 5.5 ounce can of cat food and havent had a problem with acceptance. For myself, I put lysine in my morning coffee and dont even know its there. The grainy texture of the lysine powder is not a concern, as it dissolves in water very quickly; I actually find it easier to handle than the finer powders.

Digests too quickly.

Expected L-lysine to taste somewhat salty --like potassium salt -- as this product does. Its quite palatable though. I mix it with a little warm water & drink. Ive taken L-lysine for years & drinking the pure powder with water is much easier for me than swallowing multiple large or giant pills. Easy storage, transport, etc. I just put some in a smaller, labeled bottle & dip out with portable measuring spoon -- kept in small bottle. Can be put in capsules if prepared. I dont think theres a better product on the market.

This product didn’t work for me. I have taken L lysine for cold sores for many years and normally get relief from symptoms within 12 hours. I tried taking 10 grams of this product daily when I had a breakout of cold sores and had no change in symptoms after 3 days. Frustrated I switched back to tablets and took 3 grams of l lysine tablets and within 12 hours I had improvement in pain and appearance of my cold sores. This product did nothing for my cold sores and I feel like it was a waste of money.

I do not like how it was packaged. So far this is my sole complaint.

My second order of Nutricost Lysine powder. Was cautious about buying such a large amount of product. Purchased to offset the high cost of feline lysine for my rescue cat. Really like the fact I can give him a higher dose for his virus which wreaks havoc on his immune system. Not to mention the mucous rooelike strands ejected from his nose getting everywhere during machine- gun sneezing attacks. All a thing of the past now and forever I hope. In fact, I’m even thinking of trying some of this supplement for myself. Very happy customer- thanks Nutricost!

This is a lifesaver for my cats. I adopted them from a shelter and both have the herpes virus causing persistent and lately often severe upper respiratory issues among other health issues. I started using this in their wet food and also added it to their water. It dissolves quickly, and they seem to drink more water now if it has the lysine in it. Since I’ve started using this, both of my cats are in excellent health with no more stuffiness, sneezing, discharge, difficulty breathing, etc. Also is great for my cat who has lots of food allergies because this is simply lysine with no flavor enhancers like the pet versions have. You also get a lot for the price. Very happy I gave this a try and wished I had purchased it sooner.

I read everything on a few lysine products. And clicked the best value....... but neglected to see it was a powder sooo.. not what I expected. Works great does it’s job not sure if better yet or not, but as good as a pull form. Takes in water/ juice/ soda is bitter. Small amount of liquid so more so ya if in an 8 oz glass. I take it with less than 1/8th C so I cannot complain since it could be better than if in a larger amount of liquid. I just mix take and go on. So far. I would recommend this powder.

My cats get this every day as a supplement. Recently I ran out of this very easily dispensed product and I and the cats all regretted the necessity of grinding tablets and being forced to use pieces which were much more easily left behind.
