Occidental Leather 9850 Adjust-to-Fit Fat

I am a carpenter with over 30 years experience. I have had these bags a while 6 months to be exact. I can not stress how much I hate these bags. The belt does not stay adjusted to fit ,the big mouth side does spills all of your fasteners together in one big mixed up mess. I wish I never ordered these bags. All I can say is this these bags where a very expensive mistake. I hope that they wear out fast. I can only hope. If I could give 0 stars I would . I cant say this enough the worst $240.00 I have ever spend and will not even look at another Occidental product EVER !

My husband has had his occidental bags for 15 years. If they had the leather bottoms hed still be good to go, so we up graded to these. You get what you pay for and this is the only way to go!

First off the bag pictured for right hand differs from the picture for left hand. While I ordered the right hand it didnt match to the picture I was expecting to get, but matched to the left hand pictured design, so keep that in mind when/if you order. While it wasnt exactly what I was expecting, the design appears to be sufficient for what I needed. The leather and pouches appear to be made of a durable stock. I havent had the opportunity to test them out fully, but my first impression of the craftsmanship is spot on.

I’m a carpenter who wears this belt all day long. I’ve only worn the belt for about 3 weeks but here are my initial thoughts: The belt is well made and has lots of room in the pockets. The downside of really deep pockets is that when you sit down with the belt on (like on a slanted roof) the pockets will flip over and empty. It’s possible this could get better with time as the belt breaks in but we will see. The hammer loop catches on my pants belt every time I bend over. It’s extremely annoying. I’m looking for a pad or something that will prevent this from happening. If the hammer loop had been an inch lower it would prevent this issue. If you use Milwaukee clips on your tools and like to hang your drills and impacts from your belt you will be disappointed. The thickness of the leather around the pocket edge is too thick to safely hang the tool. The belt is made very well, high quality craftsmanship. I’m wondering if I may have gone overboard on this purchase and should have gone with a slightly smaller belt (not as deep pockets). I’d definitely buy this brand again, just probably not this model.

Are the bags attached to the belt? Can they be removed to change the belt?
