Im still using the one my son bought me in 1983; still perfectly sharp, even after two moves + everyday use. I bought some more (these), tho, just in case I was stupid enough to lose the one I have. (The new ones are just as good!). Important: the ones that are round-ish shape do NOT have the little bump that keeps the blade extended. Dont buy this shape, tho its the same maker. You have to keep the blade out by hand while you cut. THIS VERSION IS NOT LIKE THAT. There is a little nub that catches the blade and keeps it extended. You will not be sorry. Order 2 pks; youll like find that someone in your family has lifted yours (common problem with kids heading to college bcs they already know theyre good but wont have access to yours!). Caveat: Magnetized to stick on refrig, filing cabinet/etc. This is not an featureI care about. I always store sharp things with care, not someplace where a small, short person could have access. This gadget is so handy! The magnet keeps it handy on my fridge and the cutter tackles any tape or cardboard. I ordered multiples and give them to friends. Editing to add that having the blad retract so quickly and easily is another neat feature.

I love these things! Now that I have Amazon boxes arriving almost every day, they have made my life so much easier. I don’t have to search the house to find the scissors or go through all the tools in the garage to find our box-cutter so I can open the latest box. It might be overstating things to call them “life-changing” but they are excellent, efficient (and affordable!) little tools. I keep one in my purse and it comes in handy here and there, like when I’m visiting relatives in their home and they are looking all over for scissors so they can open *their* Amazon boxes. Then I end up having to buy more of these because they want mine. :-) One final note: I have arthritis in my hands and these little gadgets allow me to open boxes without hurting my hands using scissors or a box cutter—a small thing, yes, but It makes a difference to me.

Ive had Olfa touch knives in the past but couldnt find a new one like this in any of the hardware stores I patronize. I found these on Amazon and they are a newer model of the ones I used to have. I would recommend getting the kind where the blade extends with positive stops, rather than the one where the blade retracts the moment you (accidentally) let go of the slider. Another feature of this newer one is that it has a magnet so you can stick it on your refrigerator, tool chest, or file cabinet where it will be handy. I just keep mine in my pocket all the time where it is barely noticeable but there whenever I need to open parcels. Very sharp blade; highly recommended.

I love these little things. They are small, they are easy to grab off of your fridge door, and they do the job!!!

We were given a knife like this for Christmas over 15 years ago. It has been the one constant on the fridge all these years. I was so excited when I found these. When they arrived I could easily see the quality was the same sturdiness as our 15 year old knife. We now have one on the fridge, the front door for packages, the back door dog food and garden dirt and of course one for each car. By far one of the best gadgets ever.

I use this product almost daily to open my boxes and packages that I receive from Amazon! Super useful...ordered extras for my kids...everyone loves having them handy on the refrigerator! Wish they came in more colors, only offered white and green. My old one was blue that I got a quilt show years ago. Saw a hot pink one but didnt want to pay huge shipping charge from out of country.
