> 3 daydesk, and junk drawer (or wherever you keep your tape measure, batteries, etc). They last FOREVER. Im still using the one my son bought me in 1983; still perfectly sharp, even after two moves + everyday use. I bought some more (these), tho, just in case I was stupid enough to lose the one I have. (The new ones are just as good!). Important: the ones that are round-ish shape do NOT have the little bump that keeps the blade extended. Dont buy this shape, tho its the same maker. You have to keep the blade out by hand while you cut. THIS VERSION IS NOT LIKE THAT. There is a little nub that catches the blade and keeps it extended. You will not be sorry. Order 2 pks; youll like find that someone in your family has lifted yours (common problem with kids heading to college bcs they already know theyre good but wont have access to yours!). Caveat: Magnetized to stick on refrig, filing cabinet/etc. This is not an featureI care about. I always store sharp things with care, not someplace where a small, short person could have access. These are sharp! Highly, highly recommend. You wont be sorry you ordered these. mb
