> 24 hourDont buy Optoma Products. Bad components. Main board went out every 9 months with very little use of the product. First time covered by warranty but then costs as much as projector after first time.

> 24 hourI had the optoma hd20. This version is just so much better. True you can see the image even if there is light in the room. Very usable during the day. You do not need blackout blinds at all. I tried the hdrz 39 version, which uses a lazer. But this bulb based version produces a better image to me when using the same contrast and brightness levels. So i am happy with my purchase indeed. I wish the zoom were stronger because my room is quite large and rather have the projector at the edge of the ceiling. It would look better. Speakers are not good but i used a sound bar. Noize level and heat are much better compared to what i had. Not really noticeable when mounted on the ceiling.

> 24 hourThis is a GREAT projector, especially for the money. Its quiet, can be used in a room with the lights on, and has a crisp picture with good color. The ONLY thing Id say is that the refresh rate blurs rapid movement in video games such as call of duty or sports games such as Madden. Youll get used to it fairly quickly, but it is an adjustment and you have just a beat less time to react. Movies HD and above look absolutely fantastic.

> 24 hourThis projector is mostly quiet and looks good but do not be fooled by the 15,000 hr lamp life claim as I was. A year and 1 month after purchase the lamp crapped out. And guess what. The manufacturer only waranties the lamp for 90 days. I ran a little math and if it had been on for a whole year that would have still came under 9,000 hrs... so they might as well say it lasts a gigilion hrs if they dont have to back that up with a warranty right. I thought ahead knwoing bulbs are a projectors weak point and bought 3 years of extended warranty through Asurion. Short story. Dont waste your money on it. Long storry after jumping through hoops for them for about 5 hrs my persistance paid off and they emailed me a lable to send my projector out to get repaired. A week and 3 days later i received my projector back cleaned and with a note that stated customer must replace bulb. Guess what. They dont cover bulbs. Isnt that great. Learn from my mistake. Know that, while the picture quality is good, you are buying from a company that wont stand behind their grandious claims. do yourself a favor and dont shell out the extra 50 some odd dollars for a 3 yr cleaning contract that takes years of your life due to the stress of just trying to get your warranty honored. IMHO Optoma and Asurion both suck and are permanently loosing a customer and gaining bad publicity.

> 24 hourFirst, Im not a gamer, so if youre looking for an opinion on this as a gaming projector, read another review. I am a multimedia artist, and I do about 120 dates a year at schools, libraries, theaters, and other venues. Videos and images are playing nearly constantly in my programs, so they are a huge part of the audiences experience. I will start with the good. Short throw means you can put this about 3-4 from a 120 screen. As a presenter, that keeps the projector away from the audience and gives me more room to walk in front. I like that. Unfortunately, thats about all I like here and it is being returned. The bad: Most importantly, the colors are dull. I tried every mode and I cranked up the color so that they were more vibrant but then they looked artificial. It looked to me like the bulb was going, but this thing was brand new. I use a lot of nature footage in my programs, so color needs to be bright and natural. The brightness was also disappointing. Im upgrading from a 6-7 year-old Epson projector with about 3k lumens and this did not seem any brighter, maybe not AS bright. I am usually performing in spaces with a lot of ambient light and this was chosen as a best pick on TechRadar for that situation, but I did not agree at all. No lens cap. Are you kidding me? I will be using my next projector for another 6-7 years, setting it up and toting it around hundreds of times. I get that the lens bulges out and you would need something with depth but, without a lens cap, I expect lots of scratches from the abuse my tech gets. The vertical adjustment is a screw, so it takes a lot of fidgeting to set the height right (and thats even harder with this being short-throw). If youre setting and forgetting, then this is not really an issue for you like it is for me. I found it nearly impossible to get a level, square image with this projector. No HORIZONTAL keystone adjustment (this allows you to put your projector off to one side or another). I dont use this much but, in a tight space, this can really make the difference. For the $850 price tag, I expected more. I think Ill be spending even more but Id rather do that than live with a dispappointing

> 24 hourI returned the item well within the return time window and it took much longer than usual for the return process.(Buyers beware! They charged quite a bit on the return.)The projector is decent but didnt work with my pioneer reciever. It is seriously picky on compatibility with hdmi cables.

> 24 hourFor the price it is the best one, 4k HDR input . It does take a lot of calibration to have best picture. Only annoying thing . Is auto color mode does not work. When in HDR you need to manually change colors space to 16-235. 0-255 is for non HDR content . Nice throw for smaller rooms . Around 9 feet for 120” screen
