We needed to secure our dog harness by attaching it to a seatbelt in the truck to avoid the dog becoming a missile inside the car in the event of an accident or sudden stop. Now our pets are comfortable and safe in place...like a child would be protected. This swivel is heavy duty cast aluminum, compact, the perfect size. It moves very smooth on its ball bearings. I had to look extensively and read details for the many choices on Amazon. I found that hardware and harnesses made for climbing, rescue and yoga swings (another story there) are uniquely rated high in tensile breaking strength, making them just right for safekeeping dogs of any size. We found a pair of locking carabiner clips that matched the swivel specifications on Amazon (see photo and link below) that fit the swivel, easily connecting the harness to the seatbelt, while still allowing the dog to sit, stand or lie down safely. The carabiners snap open and shut easily with one hand and can be quickly locked by turning the red collar! We saw several sets of swivels sold with carabiners. Unfortunately, these had heavy-duty aluminum swivels, but the matching carabiners were either stainless steel, too heavy for pets, or flimsy aluminum...too bad these items here werent sold as a set. There were many pet configurations listed, but none were strong enough to work in a moving car scenario. At just 40 mph, a moving, unattached 40 pound dog can exert nearly 900 pounds of impact pressure. We were very happy to find this combination, good luck to all who look for the same thing. I’m using this as a swivel in my kiteboarding harness. Only used it once so far but worked great under load. Hope it lasts. Looks great and operates very smoothly.

Its a swivel. It makes things that do not want to spin forever, do the opposite. A must have on every tire swing or webbed tree swing for maximum vomit production. Not intended for use as a suppository.

Good finish / coating on swivel, rotates smoothly. Ive not tested it at or near its limits, looks like it could hold a lot of weight. I have overhead storage in the garage and use a harbor freight winch mounted in the ceiling to pull heavy stuff up. Safer than climbing a ladder while trying to hold onto it. The cable on the winch wants to rotate a bit when its being retracted and this allows me to easily keep the crate that holds stuff in an orientation so that it doesnt bump the wall while being pulled up. Id buy one again.

This really improved our tree swing. The kids love it.

surprisingly good swivel for the value. Havent tested the true strength of it but we have had about 350lbs hanging from it without issue...
