> 3 dayI use Pelican cases for all my photography gear. This was was used as a lighting kit and holds one strobe, two flashes, all my remote triggers, and spare batteries. The foam is a bit finicky to work with but its secure. This case has gone to hell and back and my gear is always safe. This particular model (1510) is also the maximum carry-on size. So if youre like me and you wont let your gear leave your side when you travel, you can rest easy knowing its safe.

> 3 dayFirst let me say I have owned dozens of Peli cases over the last fifteen years, in all sizes including one enormous roller I traveled with to China. In general I love them. This one though does not seem to be of normal Pelican quality. When closing the lid, the lid does not come down properly over the box, instead it kind of catches on the box and then needs to manually be adjusted to fit over the box lip. That makes it a 2-handed job. Also, the latches just do not seem as good as other cases I have owned. I sent a note to Pelican asking whether this could be a counterfeit but the reply was a runaround so I gave up. Personally I feel the common binning that Amazon uses is causing a lot of counterfeit goods to appear, although it seems unlikely that anyone would knock off this kind of product. Ill continue to need cases like this but Ill probably start looking at lesser-known brands since it seems that Peli may not be superior.

> 3 dayI prefer the design and build of the similarly-sized Nanuk (935) case. The fit/finish are comparable, but Ill buy the Nanuk again, not the Pelican, particularly when cost is considered. Will revise the review If longevity turns out to be an issue.

> 3 dayHoly Hannah, this is one tough case. Ive used it for air travel exclusively, and man is this a great companion. If youre willing to put up with a bit of extra weight, this thing delivers a veritable bunker for your possessions in your travels. The side handle for briefcase-like handling is nicely sized with a good grip, so youre in no danger of dropping it. The slide out handle for pulling it on its wheels also pulls out easily and locks securely, and is of good length so it doesnt constantly nip at your heels like other baggage. The clasps/latches are crazy strong, with a solid (albeit loud) snap to let you know your clothes have been locked down in the Fort Knox of travel gear. There are two areas to attach locks (one by each latch), which does necessitate the use of two locks if you really dont want people getting inside. I discarded the foam since Im using this for clothes, but if youre traveling with the aim of protecting some item, the foam will indeed provide the sought protection. Be warned that you will want to air the foam out a bit before use, as it does have a residual chemical odor.

> 3 dayThis is a great product if you have important equipment carry around. I used this on a trip to Boston and it was a dream to be able to put it in overhead storage and not have any issues with the airline saying it was too big. It also has taken quite a beating and is Still in great condition. The pick and pluck Foam is a little annoying but you can purchase different liners if it’s too much of an issue for you.
