> 24 hourThis works really well with my headlamp, which is a Black Diamond Wiz. The power symbol on the case even pretty much lines up with the power button on the headlamp even though its not the same brand. I keep it hanging near the top of my ditty back and headlamp storage and as an easy way to see the inside of the bag. I havent taken it camping yet, but its clearly going to work as a general purpose lantern on a tabletop or hanging. I would recommend using this with a headlamp that can be operated with a single button on top.

> 24 hourThough its irritating that petzl lights are not water resistant I love them anyway. I own 4 now. 3 different models. I picked 2 of these up for my reactik lights. The old one with the whistle the is easier to turn on in the case. The new brighter model seams to roll forward when trying to turn on. The case seams to be well thought out and the lantern option works great if I can get the button on. The little hook doesnt like to wrap around the shock cord very well. The hooks doesnt fit on my blind support rods. Hunters. You may have to tape the zipper pull or something. Its kind of loud when it slaps the case. So if you plan on adding a small caribeaner to the little ring for easy access keep that in mind. Wish they were cheaper.

> 24 hourWe brought the Petzl Noctilight while hiking the Northville-Placid Trail. This conspicuous, lightweight lantern illuminated the darkest campsites and could be adjusted to hang inside our tent as we previewed our guidebook for the next day. The lantern threw plenty of light and could easily be adjusted using the controls on our headlamps without removing them from the lantern. We still use it at home on our screened-in porch!

> 24 hourCaveat Emptor.... This is going to be a great solution for 98% of backpackers out there, however, its not something that fits into my system of ultra light backpacking and may not for you as well... For what this is its just too heavy (almost 5oz or 136 grams on my scale- quite a bit more than advertised on Amazon). For another 3.0 ounces I can carry a pop-up lantern that is much brighter than this thing and I can still use my headlamp to do other chores/activities around camp. Its just not worth the weight for me and if I want to carry the extra weight I will go with the superior piece of gear. Some positive are the way this thing difuses light and maybe tha tit works as a protective case for your headlamp in your pack. However, if youre worried about accidentally turning the lamp on while in your pack there are far lighter (and cheap solutions) to that problem. I would classify this as a luxury item and not something I would be carrying on a hunting, thru-hike, or when I am looking to bang out a ton of miles. Ill take the extra ounces in tape or snacks before I would carry this around. I am not going to return as I may have some uses or as a piece of ancillary gear but I am am disappointed in just how heavy it is. Good idea but I think its just a bit too heavy for ultra light backbackers.

> 24 hourWhen I saw this product I fell in love with the idea of it and had it on my wish list for some time. A few few weeks ago I was in a position to purchase it and can now say that I love it for what it is. I have a light duty bodied petzl which cuts down on weight, however felt that there would not be proper protection for it as it rattled around with my other small gear. Furthermore I wanted to have diffused light for my kit without needing to go out and get another light which would mean more weight, cost, and room. Also,I like good, long lasting gear and will pay for it if I have to. Enter the NOCTILIGHT. Added weight, cost, and room is unavoidable when looking to add to capability to a system compromise must be made. That said, the NOCTILIGHT didnt add much weight, gives a comfortable level of protected to my headlamp, defuses light effectively, didnt add much weight, took up little extra room, and is good gear that does not break the bank. Other things to note, the zipper is heavy duty, and the cord attached to hook has a strong return for its tasking, which in my experience means the elasticity of the cord will remain good over long use.

> 24 hourLove it. It makes my Petzel headlamp into a teeny tiny lantern. It has an elastic strap that you can put around a tent pole or whatever.

> 24 hourI havent tried it yet in the mountain, but as far as I tried at home, this lamp case reflects the light in perfect way, so you can use for Petzl flashlight as a camping lamp. and its a Petzl original product, so quality is assured. update: used it in the top of a volcano I hiked during the night,m it was awesome to see the regular petzl flashlight becomes a lamp. 2 thumbs up!!

> 24 hourNice build quality and diffusion of light. Nice and easy to depress on/off switch, shock cord hanger wraps up nicely and easy to stow. Very happy with purchase.
