> 3 dayI love my petzl headlamp, especially with the rechargeable core battery system. Just unzip this little guy and put your headlamp in and your are in area light business. Simple and ingenious! I have gone through several LED globes that eat AAA batteries in no time. Disposable junk compared to this system. I highly recommend to any hikers / campers that already own Petzls.

> 3 dayThough its irritating that petzl lights are not water resistant I love them anyway. I own 4 now. 3 different models. I picked 2 of these up for my reactik lights. The old one with the whistle the is easier to turn on in the case. The new brighter model seams to roll forward when trying to turn on. The case seams to be well thought out and the lantern option works great if I can get the button on. The little hook doesnt like to wrap around the shock cord very well. The hooks doesnt fit on my blind support rods. Hunters. You may have to tape the zipper pull or something. Its kind of loud when it slaps the case. So if you plan on adding a small caribeaner to the little ring for easy access keep that in mind. Wish they were cheaper.

Greater than one weekGreat idea. I use my Petzl all the time for tasks around the house as well as my forays into the woods. With this device, though, Ive discovered much more functionality. I cant wait to use it on my next camping trip in April.

> 3 dayVery versatile and extremely handy. Bought it for camping, and ended up using it the first time when the power went out during a thunderstorm. The next day was using it while working on my jeep. It diffuses the light from the headlamp very well. Giving an area more diffused light than the headlamp by itself. Using an opaque/frosted dome, to diffuse the light. Clever design. Well made. Expect years of issue-free use.

> 3 dayArrived on time in good condition. My Petzl headlamp fits inside, and I can switch the headlamp off and on from outside the lantern case no problem. When I go camping in a few weeks, well see how well it works as a lantern !

> 3 dayCaveat Emptor.... This is going to be a great solution for 98% of backpackers out there, however, its not something that fits into my system of ultra light backpacking and may not for you as well... For what this is its just too heavy (almost 5oz or 136 grams on my scale- quite a bit more than advertised on Amazon). For another 3.0 ounces I can carry a pop-up lantern that is much brighter than this thing and I can still use my headlamp to do other chores/activities around camp. Its just not worth the weight for me and if I want to carry the extra weight I will go with the superior piece of gear. Some positive are the way this thing difuses light and maybe tha tit works as a protective case for your headlamp in your pack. However, if youre worried about accidentally turning the lamp on while in your pack there are far lighter (and cheap solutions) to that problem. I would classify this as a luxury item and not something I would be carrying on a hunting, thru-hike, or when I am looking to bang out a ton of miles. Ill take the extra ounces in tape or snacks before I would carry this around. I am not going to return as I may have some uses or as a piece of ancillary gear but I am am disappointed in just how heavy it is. Good idea but I think its just a bit too heavy for ultra light backbackers.

18-11-2024This is my second Noctilight. Replaced my small lantern with this for camping/hiking. Awesome lighting option if you are trying to save weight but you still want lantern level performance.

> 3 dayI havent tried it yet in the mountain, but as far as I tried at home, this lamp case reflects the light in perfect way, so you can use for Petzl flashlight as a camping lamp. and its a Petzl original product, so quality is assured. update: used it in the top of a volcano I hiked during the night,m it was awesome to see the regular petzl flashlight becomes a lamp. 2 thumbs up!!
