The Pilots Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge is a government handbook from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As a pilot, its not optional. You must have it.

Exactly what I wanted

Inconsistent writing style makes reading difficult. The overall information is valuable. Chapters, sections and sub-sections should be marked in detailed numbers to facilitate reading.

2016 color version. A little dated, but still very useful as the basics of aviation haven’t changed.
