> 24 hourI ordered this for the purpose of grinding tree stumps and they worked well. The stumps were as large as 1 foot in diameter and as small as 6.

> 24 hourWhen using this carving discs you need to get a good strong grip because this does tend to jump. They do remove a good amount of material.

> 24 hourThese work very well on stumps. They eat through wood quite well just hold on tight. Or it will get away from you.

> 24 hourThese work very well, but you really need to have a firm grip on the grinder so they dont get away from you. If you hit any knots, it will disintegrate the knot with too much pressure, as well as chew into the wood around it. These work better than the chainsaw-style grinders, as well as being significantly safer to use as they dont kick back as readily. The harder the wood, the smaller the bite it takes, but it does create heat which may discolor the project at hand. These are great for very fast stock removal, and was preferred to be used on a variable speed grinder instead of an off-on model as the speed truly makes a difference on the final results.

> 24 hourSo I have a regular wood project (pictured) of hollowing out a wood seat base. It consumes an expensive hollowing disk each time and the disk has a small amount of life left for next time - but not enough for a complete next job. So I thought I would try THESE disks. The price is right. While fresh they cut as effectively as an expensive disk. The durability is less than the expensive disk. But it is enough to get the job done once. So in cost for result - these cheaper disks are better value. Though you will be throwing more away. But spending less. I was amused to discover that the (fairly extensive) instruction leaflet lead off with a description as to how to use the disks to grind a tree stump! I guess it is just a different kind of woodwork......

> 24 hourMy goal for this wood carving disc set was to turn a couple year old Bradford pear stump into a rounded bowl for a birdbath. I used these discs on my battery operated angle grinder. When in use it went through almost two batteries with not a lot to show for it. I dont have a corded angle grinder so power may be the limiting factor. However, the grinding blade got noticeably dull after my short 5-10 minutes of use. This could be because of the old age of the stump and hardness of the wood. When using the discs, be sure to keep it low or itll pull you left real hard if you apply too much pressure. In my use case, these underperformed a bit. But I will see if I can get a corded grinder to verify if power is limiting the capabilities of these discs.

> 24 hourThis Pomsare set is a great value. If you do any wood carving this group of shaping wheels pretty much does it all. I’m new to two of the shapes - the flat wheel and the drum wheel. Now I’m hooked. I use dried driftwood as my wood source. And while it is inexpensive and ecological, the density of the wood varies throughout the logs. These had no problem moving from soft parts of the wood through the denser, harder parts of the wood. I can’t comment on the longevity of these wheels yet, because I’ve only tried them on one piece. But so far they seem to be staying plenty sharp. Oh, and these fit my angle grinder just fine (it is one of the major brands the vendor lists in their description).
