Power USB Hub 3.0, atolla 16 Port USB Splitter with 12V/6A Power Adapter and Individual Switches, High-Speed Data Transfer for Laptop, PC, Mac, and More Devices

This is a great USB hub. If you like to play flight/racing simulators this is great to have on the ground to hook up all of the controllers... with room to spare. I also transferred files to a USB drive with great speed. Love the external power as well... to charge devices. This is a big unit... but it has a earned a place at my gaming PC.

This is a powered USB 3.0 hub 3.0 with ports. Now that may seem like a simple sentence, but it isnt. In fact, USB hubs that claim to support USB 3.0 do not. The Atolla hub does. In addition it is powered. That mean that you need to plus it in. Many hub use what is called bus power. That mean that the power that they use is drawn fro the computer or device that they are connected to. That can put a strain on your system if you are using a lot of USB ports for power or charging. Having your own power supply for the hub is nice. Atolla claims that the hub delivers 12V/6A of power. My testing confirms that. Also Atolla clams USB 3.0 data transfer rates. Again, I have conformed that. So far, the Atolla is stacking up pretty well. Speaking of power, the 16 ports on the hub are individually switched. That can save money and heat. When you with a port off, the led light for the port also goes off so that you can visually determine if a port is on or not. That is nice. Atolla also claims fast charging speeds. While that is true, the Atolla does not support the latest quick charging standards. In the world of electronics, especially consumer electronics, a lot of manufacturers make all sorts of performance claim that they do not meet. Im happy that Atolla delivers what they promise.

Wow, this thing is a good foot long and looks great. Measured port power didnt fluctuate even with unpowered hard drives (like a WD passport) being connected) in addition to USB flash drives. File transfer speed was at full rated speed and was the same as if I had the drive directly connected. I tested with a very fast drive and a slow drive at the same time, as well as two similar normal USB 3.0 drives. I transferred data simultaneously without issue. Speed did vary as the full bandwidth of the computers USB port was shared among the devices. This comes with a 12v power supply, which has a long power cord to the supply and another long power cord, ending in a barrel connection for connecting to the hub. This should provide plenty of length for you to place it where need, although it will require being within 3-feet of your computers USB port due to the length of the connector. The connector is a thick USB 3 cable with at Type-A male end. Each port lights up in blue. If a device is in the port, you can press an individual button to turn off the device and it will disconnect from the system. Likewise, you can turn it back on again using the same method. Bottom Line: If you have lots of drives, drives that you use but not all the time, and limited ports, this hub can handle it. Power off and back on without removal the device.

I ordered this 16-port USB hub because I always have many devices to charge; such as cell phones, tablets, smart watches, headphones, portable batteries, and other things as well. I had been using a 3-port USB charger at my desk, but I was always having to unplug one device to charge another. With this hub I can leave the cables for all of the devices I charge on a regular basis plugged in, so that will save me a lot of time. Although this hub can also be connected to your computer and used to access flash drives or portable hard drives, my primary computer already has enough ports for those devices, so for me this hub will only be used for charging. The big complaint I have is the lack of USB-C support. This is 2023, not 2013. There is no excuse for any product like this that is being sold today to not have full support for USB-C. The main cable that is used to connect this hub to your computer should be USB-C, not USB-A. And at least half of the 16 ports should be USB-C. If Atolla would update this product to include those changes, I would give it 5 stars. But although this is a fine piece of hardware and it solves a big problem for me, I cant give it a perfect rating without USB-C support.

It is nice to see some empty USB ports still available. So many devices to charge and connect to this hub that it almost looks absurd to have so many ports. But we need them.

This is a lot larger than I was expecting, but its very nice to expand my USB3.0 ports. I like that it has individual on/off control for each port, and so far I have no complains. Speeds are good, and no connection issues or errors.

I don’t always go for these kinds of gadgets but I LIKE this one a lot. You can turn each of the ports on or off individually. They light up nicely and it’s a streamlined silhouette that isn’t as bulky as some of the others I’ve seen with fewer ports. No USB-C though, and that could be an issue for a hub meant to multi-task like this one. Fast data transfer and does not get hot, even when everything is plugged in.

I LOVE THIS THING! My laptop only has 2 ports and I need to have access to way more than that to run my programs. this hub is INCREDIBLE! The main board plugs into an outlet, so your computer isnt powering the big strip. you can turn on and off power to each hub. very nice

This USB splitter works just as promised, which surprised me. Its so handy to keep on the desk for my notebook to use. The data throughput is consistent with USB 3.0 protocols, which is great. My one big complaint: couldnt the manufacture put some USB-C ports on the hub? Its unlikely someone would need 16 standard USB ports, so why not put some modern connections? The only reason I didnt dock any stars for the lack of USB-C ports is because you can see that before you order. Its just bad form for the manufacturer to be stuck in the dark ages.

This is the largest powered USB hub I’ve ever had, and I’ve got a bunch. This is a 3.0 rated connection and using a 256 GB thumbdrive, the Crystalmark is right on target with the same drive in direct 3.0 link as well as in other computers. I tested all slots and they all work the same. Be aware that to shut down a slot you need to press the slot button for about 2 seconds. Turn on is instant. This is a good anti-goof feature. 6 amp power supply. Main USB cable is permanent connect. 5 stars Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years.
