PRESIDENT Ronald 10 Meter Radio

I’ve owned quite a few 10/11 Meter rigs in my day including a different President radio. The President Ronald is by far the most feature packed and infinitely variable rig I’ve owned. The mic is a little cheesy so consider purchasing a nice aftermarket microphone, you’ll be respected on the airwaves.

I ordered this radio in April and the unit rattled right out of the box. Obviously something loose inside. I returned it and received a replacement very quickly. The 10 meter ham band is a time of day/sun activity specific band. Three days ago I realized the band was opening (becoming available for transmissions) late in the afternoon so I tried reaching some distant operators. I could hear Dallas/Ft Worth, Denver, and North Carolina operators well but no one seemed to be receiving my CQs . I checked the SWR, better than 1.5, used a watt meter to check the output and found that I my output on the FM band was 6 watts, AM less than 3. This supposed to be a 50 watt radio, what the heck gives?

This is a hard radio to beat for the money. Once the mod is done its pretty bad azz

I love this radio so much that I bought another one! So now I have one as a base station and another in my Tacoma! Awesome reception and both of my President Ronalds will do 45+watts right out of the box! Great compact radio for those who dont have a lot of room in their vehicle. I paired the radio in my Toyota Tacoma with a Wilson 1000 magnetic mount antenna and my SWR are 1:0 across the 11 meter band!!! I recommend President Radios every day, all day!

Loaded with features however dont be fooled by the output advertisement. 50% modulation 15 watt rms and 25 watt pep is what mine does without putting it on a tone generator. Turn it down to 1.5 watts and it swings to 5 pep again without a tone generator. On a tone generator it performs as stated but I dont know anyone who can talk with one. Other than that I really like the radio. All the features you like in a great small package. Too much to list them all but they all work great. Forget the mounting bracket. Its too cheap. I used one off of one of my old dual banders. Yes its that small. If there was a way to eliminate the limiter so you can get 80-90% modulation talking I would give it 5 stars. This would be a great radio for a Jeep club if they want to convert it to 11m. 73s

This is a great little radio. For the radio size and its power output its just fantastic. I was not disappointed.

Make sure to Add the resistor & a external speaker Then works good & last a long time.
