Quicksilver / Mercury 2-4-C Marine Lubricant / Grease w/ Teflon 8oz

Bottom line- this is decent grease for linkages, rust prone parts, connectors, shift levers, and anything moving under the cowling on an outboard. It is a basic lithium based marine grease with Teflon. Lithium isn’t as effective for high heat or high pressure applications like wheel bearings and Mercury makes other greases for that. An aluminium complex grease or even calcium sulfonate grease would be superior for bearings. However, this is a good choice for moving parts under the cowling. Applied regularly, this will do a good job.

My Mercury maintenance manual called for this product to be used to lube the ends of the throttle and shift cables and it exceeded my expectations. The throttle lever now shifts and moves easily and smoothly every time.
