Seems very strong like so far

This mount is a tank! I thought it would be some type of poly plastic but it is cast aluminum maybe? Either way, I have one on the bow of my boat and one to the right of my console holding a 999ci HD & 899ci HD. They dont move an inch in rough water. Yes you do need to make sure the screws are tight if you move it but, Duh. Only complaint is for the one I have at the console; it is that it holds the 999 at a 90 degree. I can move it UP (So if I stand up I can see it) but cant down when I am driving when the sun is high or bad glare.

Great piece of gear, have a 9inch hummingbird mounted to it, holds it well at 60 mph and I am able to swing it around so I can view it whicle I am on the front deck of my boat fishing. I have a 2013 Stratos VLO189.

There is a serious design flaw in this mount. If your fish finder is 7” or smaller, the space between the swing arm and base plate is too small. I am unable to attach a locking nut because it will then prevent the base from turning (it bumps up against the swing arm). It also came with a good size chip in it (down to bare metal).
