> 3 dayReceived this mic a few days ago and am impressed by its high build quality. It fits the hand well and has a good amount of heft for its size. It is not needlessly large. The hanger button is chromed steel and also has a steel connection point above the hanger button for a tether cable. The sound quality is very good and the mics output level drives my Galaxy DX979 to full modulation right out of the box. This is a close-talk mic as most noise cancelling mics are. The rubber bumper acts as a distance gauge; it should lightly touch your upper lip while speaking in order to deliver full output.

> 3 dayOwn 2. Switch on one is weak (cleaned numerous times). Wiring shorted out on 2nd pretty quickly (stays attached, hanging on a Keeper). Great sounding mic when working.

> 3 dayi,ve noticed that this mic is pretty heavy and the sound is great or so every one says. i like this much better than the road king mics mainly because of the cord. rk has definitely failed in the last couple of years. the 198 is well worth the money
