Restored by the Fords, Season 1

Its sad to see beautiful old homes turned into sterile, characterless abominations!

My current favorite HGTV show. I love her designs and how she takes whats great about the house and showcases it instead of just gutting it to force it to fit her personal aesthetic. I really appreciate that this show focuses on the transformations without inserting a lot of contrived drama. If there are things that come up that require a change to the design, she rolls with it, like a professional, instead of throwing a diva fit and breaking the budget.

Dont order this to watch. Everything they do looks the same. What a complete waste of time. I would have give it a zero but I was forced to give it one star. ZERO is what it should have gotten. It sucked.

The minute I saw them paint a brick fireplace I stopped watching them.

This show makes me weep. Just finished the first two episodes of season two and decided to stop recording it after watching the Fords ruin a Craftsman and a Victorian home. Why remove gorgeous, vintage leaded glass windows? Why take a jackhammer to a beautiful tiled fireplace? Why knock down amazing archways? Why paint everything--including lovely woodwork--white? I have no problem with a contemporary aesthetic, but why force it onto vintage homes where it doesnt belong? If youre fortunate enough to have a period home with lots of character but cant appreciate how lucky you are, please do the world a favor. Sell your house, buy a ranch, and THEN invite Leanne Ford and her brother (who frankly, seems like hes stoned throughout the entire show) to slather it in flat white paint. Le sigh.

I love watching the Fords and what they do with things in peoples homes that they reuse in the new design.

She may have good current style but Restore she does not. I watched 2 episodes where she destroyed original mid century details by painting them white. Painful to watch.

My new favorite HGTV TV show. I love the Fords relationship and they do great work together. Fun show to watch and great takeaways for your own home.

I’m sorry, but I can’t stand this show. Steve is not careful at all, is hard to understand, and looks idiotic with his hats and how he wears them. And she lacks any hint of style with her designs. Blah!
