> 24 hourThe lights are red and amber therefore the label should be the same but the amber part is yellow and that washes out under fluorescent light and I can hardly see what it is with my old eyes. But under either led lights here I can make out the yellow. If they used amber ink then it would be no problem. I will have to mark it with a sharpie while I can still make it out before it fades more. This is an exact copy of a 30+ year old one I have around here somewhere, but cannot find right now, except for the label. On the older one they used amber ink. 2 ambers good, anything else something wrong. I only tried 2 of the combinations and they worked. Every homeowner or handy person should have one of these.

> 24 hourThis tester is a must have for any homeowner. Dont rely solely on a NCV tester when dealing with outlets. This will let you know at a glance if your outlet has power and whether its wired correctly. This is as basic as you can get for an outlet tester but most of the time thats all you need. It doesnt have a GFCI test rip button (although it will test a GFCI outlet just fine). Ive had one of these in my toolbox for many years. Recently the ground prong broke loose so it was time to get a new one. This one did the trick.

> 24 hourSeems to work well enough, but something is inside the casing and it rattles when you shake it. Call me old fashioned, but I dont like loose things inside my electrical equipment. Not sure Im totally comfortable using this on the regular.

> 24 hourThe first one I got was defective. It kept saying that my neutral was open which I know was incorrect and I even went through the trouble of verifying the house wiring. So I think it was just a dead bulb in the tester, or some similar defect. I sent it back and got a good working one. You can see in the picture how the Klein tester shows that there are no issues with the outlet while this product indicate that there is an open neutral. Quality Issues is not what you want on equipment you use for testing, so my recommendation is to just pay a little more for a well know brand one like Klein.

> 24 hourThe AC Plug 3 Prong Electrical Socket Tester by Riqinxin is an effective and easy to use little tool. I often simply use it to verify that the power is off to an outlet prior to removing the faceplate cover. But at the same time, it tells me if the outlet is wired correctly or do I have the potential of getting into electrical trouble. Trouble readings are pasted on the unit for easy viewing.

> 24 hourThis very handy tool does an excellent job at indicating whats what with electrical plugs. I am so glad that I found it, as it saved my bacon when I used it to make sure a socket was cold that I thought I had flipped the breaker on so I could change it, only to find, after plugging this grand device in, that the plug was still hot. Whew!

> 24 hourAre the electrical outlets in your home wired correctly and safely? How would you know? Its possible for them to still work, but, not be correct and safe. With this tool, it is easy and the work of seconds to confirm that all the wiring is as it should be. Simply plug this into the outlet and look at which lights turn on - theres a straightforward explanation right on the tool of what they mean, what you want to see, and whats wrong if you see something else. This way, you dont have to trust your contractor or electrician to not make a mistake and wire things backwards - you can know for sure that the polarization is correct and grounding is safe, without you having to open up the outlets or touch any wires yourself. Every homeowner should have one of these. The body of the tester is hard plastic, so, unless you drive over it with your car, itll probably outlast you. Recommended!

> 24 hourIf you do any kind of electrical work, you must have one of these. The professional use them so if youre a home DIYer, you should too. Its invaluable to let you know if youve done the wiring work correctly or if youre trying to track down a problem. Like me, I just bought a house and used this to find that whoever had been doing work on the electrical here, didnt know what they were doing. I was able to track down some issues and correct them before a fire started or someone was electrocuted. Always keep one of these in your tool box.
