This tool is very handy to make sure the outlets are wired properly as well as make sure GFCIs are in working order and the Test and Reset buttons work. I would recommend this item to all DIYers as well as apprentice electricians. This tester gives me confidence that I correctly wired up all my outlets including the GFCIs! The lights work and are easy to read indicating if it is wired correctly or if it is improperly wired. The is comparable to Klien, 3M or Ideal outlet testers.

Its a down and dirty little outlet tester. It does the job at a great price. I am happy with the purchase.

Accurate and works well!

I needed an extra receptacle tester because I always misplace mine. This one works, and does what it should and so I am giving it 5 stars. One thing it lacks, which I didnt notice before ordering is a gfci tester button. You can get one that includes this feature from other name brands for a lower price. Ill keep this one in my toolbox but probably order one that has the gfci button.

These are great for the experts and for the homeowner, even if you know nothing about electric circuits. Simply plug into the socket and see what lights up. If you get two yellow lights all it fine, if not, the chart on it will tell you whats wrong. Its that simple. Test every outlet in your home, top and bottom, inside and outside, some can be wired right, some might be wrong. Or just use it to see if you have power to the outlet. A book from your local home store can teach you how to wire them up if your a handy do it yourself person, or at least be able to tell a repair person what the problem is and let them correct it. Great tool but not a great deal of money

If you do any kind of electrical work, you must have one of these. The professional use them so if youre a home DIYer, you should too. Its invaluable to let you know if youve done the wiring work correctly or if youre trying to track down a problem. Like me, I just bought a house and used this to find that whoever had been doing work on the electrical here, didnt know what they were doing. I was able to track down some issues and correct them before a fire started or someone was electrocuted. Always keep one of these in your tool box.

Ive had similar devices like this in the past and this works just like them. There are 3 lights and based on which lights come on when you plug it in you can tell if your outlet is wired correctly. Its a great tool for a quick check. This one works well and I seems to work well.

This very handy tool does an excellent job at indicating whats what with electrical plugs. I am so glad that I found it, as it saved my bacon when I used it to make sure a socket was cold that I thought I had flipped the breaker on so I could change it, only to find, after plugging this grand device in, that the plug was still hot. Whew!

Tested this on several plugs in my house. It worked well and showed me that everything was as it should be. I did switch the hot and neutral legs on one plug just to be sure it would detect an issue, and it did. Happy with this tester.

This continuity tester is easy to use to test my grounding products. I like that it uses 2 AAA batteries, which are easy to install. And I also like that you can plug the end of the wire into the side of the tester to test the wire itself. Great product.
