> 24 hourI have 3 expensive equestrian undergarments for sports that only come in rather ugly or very faded colors. So far I have dyed two of them, one navy blue and the other teal. They took the dye so well! If I could do it over, I wouldnt have dyed them so dark. Lighter of both would have been even better, but past experience with dyes has always been not enough that remained. I used salt and vinegar with both, dont know if thats why it dyed so well. Now I can wear like-colored pickleball tops and not have to worry about straps showing, YAY! Cant wait to dye the last one pink.

> 24 hourHad to buy a steel pot to cook this in, and it wasnt easy to use. Color didnt come out well; had streaks throughout the garment.

> 24 hourI am so disappointed with RIT dyes. i have been using on upholstered pieces, with good results. UNTIL THIS. despite having the same name TEAL as their dye for regular, natural fabrics, this dye for synthetic fabrics is NOWHER NEAR the same color. the dye for natural fibers really was TEAL, this, also, perhaps humorously, called TEAL is pure blue. I am very disappointed and will not use RIT dyes again-- or recommend them since they cant even match their own colors!

> 24 hourRIT dye is reliable for its effectiveness, but the coloring was much darker than displayed on the bottle.

> 24 hourI used it to dye two phone cases. both of them were crystal clear flexible cases (TPU material). I used 4 teaspoons of Tropical Teal color plus one cup of hot water from a tea kettle in a pyrex dish. I didnt choose stovetop, I was worried it would warp the case. the water cooled as I used it, but it turned out fine. edit: several months later, these cases still look wonderful. the dye never wore off. UPDATE: Ive used the graphite color of this dye for several other projects. success varies depending on what material you use. the items that had a lot of nylon content worked really well, and so did one sweater that was 75% rayon. some socks that were 97% polyester did not take the dye at all. also, the projects where I was refreshing the color worked best -- for example: faded black clothes looked brand new after I refreshed them with graphite dye, but the white clothes I dyed turned out dark grey and slightly uneven. Im not surprised, but figured Id pass that on. basically, the more subtle of a change youre going for, the better. also, consider the fact that mixed materials are going to give you mixed results. for example, thread might not take the dye as much as the rest of the garment.

> 24 hourIt was not as vibrant as it seemed. I was dying polyester so it may have been the material but I still liked the color. Ended up more of a baby blue!
