The more people you have playing Rock Band, the more fun it is. This keyboard definitely adds another dimension to game. Works well, especially if you also get the keyboard stand.

I dont use this for Rock Band but rather use it as a very inexpensive MIDI controller for my portable MIDI-enabled equipment. Ive been moving away from computers lately and back to hardware instruments. I recently purchased a Korg Volca Keys and while playing it with the ribbon keyboard is fun, Im much more dextrous on a keyboard. I wanted something that was battery powered and had the standard 5 pin DIN MIDI port as well. Having seen reviews for this controller on various synth forums I purchased this and it works great. The keys play well though the layout of some of the controls arent always easy to get to. You can use the ribbon controller for pitch bend but you have to hold down a button on the side of the ribbon to activate it, which seems counter-intuitive. Perhaps the button helps to extend battery life but I find it awkward to use. Given the price, its still a phenomenal bargain.

I do like Rock Band 3, however some of the songs are not appropriate for my kids to be singing. So that means my kids can only use the keyboard for a few songs.

Works exactly as its supposed to in Rock Band. As a keyboard you can use only the 5 colored keys and rock it as a keytar; it even has strap buttons and an overdrive switch. In Pro Mode the songs are adjusted so that you never need more keys than you have. However, for Pro Mode Id suggest either scrounging up the keyboard stand or a good TV tray because youre going to need both hands. This keyboard can even be used to play either the Bass or Guitar in Rock Band which is a good thing if you have a young player who understands the color-button-timeline thing but cant coordinate two hands yet. Just be careful to not lose the included and very necessary dongle.

If youre looking to use this for MIDI on your PC using a MIDI cable, youre out of luck with the Wii version. Keytar Rokker doesnt seem to support the Wii version of this peripheral whatsoever. Ive tried to use this plug/play, with recommended drivers and even forced alternative driver installations. None of them made this work with Keytar Rokker, or even my PC overall on Windows 10. If you just want a Wii controller for Rock Band, expect a great experience. Mine came with some bumps/dents, so I give it a 4/5 rather than the full 5. Innovative product, thats for sure. I hope more game developers (or even just the team behind this) to bring more into the world of MIDI-driven rhythm-based games.
