This key fob cover, or one like it, should be standard on Mazda CX-5s. The stock fobs protruding side mounted function buttons are easily triggered when picking it up or in a pocket. This cover recesses the buttons enough to prevent accidental operation. I use it without the rubber button covering. Lousy Mazda key fob design/ergonomics in my opinion. This cover makes a bulky fob bulkier. However, if it keeps from accidentally triggering functions its worth it!

Overall nice build without adding too much bulk. The only let down is the side button cover which is just a separate silicon piece with no option to remove the extra buttons.

I got a new CX-5 and wanted to keep the fob from getting screwed up. So I got the carbon fiber looking cover with the red insert. There is no cushioning inside the fob, but the fit is tight and the fob doesn’t slide around inside. I really like the way the plastic even covered the metal opening on the bottom to prevent scratches. The buttons all function normally while in the case, and may even prevent some accidental unlocking/openings that I’ve heard about. I don’t know how long the leather-ish tail and ring will last, but it’s not like I plan on hanging from this thing. Oh, and the hole for the Mazda logo lined up perfectly.

I kept setting off my cars alarm when my Mazda key fob was in my pocket. This has pretty much eliminated that problem. Only downside - its a bit difficult to get to the key contained in the fob, but I havent really needed to do that yet.

Overall it’s a good looking cover. Knocked off a star because it’s rather bulky for an already bulky key, but I’d buy it again. Looks like it’ll scratch easily but it’s better than my key getting scratched.

nice carbon finish with just-enough gloss. clip & buckle are nice touch.
