> 3 dayThis tape is great for waterproofing where deck fittings are installed on my boat. For items no wider than the tape (or not much wider) its easy to place it under the fitting and poke the bolt or screw through the tape. For wider fittings, its possible to squeeze it down until wide enough, or to overlap two pieces. A knife can be used to trim around the fitting if the butyl tape squeezes out too much. And the white color makes it barely noticeable against the white deck. There is so much less mess using butyl tape than using caulking compounds!

> 3 dayThis roll of caulk tape is very sticky. It’s almost like a tape that is made out of tar. It will be great for leaks on my father-in-law’s hunting trailer. He is doing repairs now, so i will update after He does.

Greater than one weekIve used putty tape like this for various projects over the years. This Rvhouse brand seems to have the same pliability and sealing capability as all the other butyl putty tapes Ive used but comes at a much better price than what I can find at my local hardware store.

> 3 dayWe have an aging RV trailer, and the caulking has dried and cracked away, causing some leaks. We cleaned out what we could and used the butyl caulking tape to seal the gaps. It is easy to work with when its cool; gets a little sticky when warm, but you can always throw it in the fridge and make it more firm again. The installation is going well. The tape looks great (only no one will see it). And only time will tell how long it lasts, but were hopeful for at least a year or two.

> 3 dayI really like using butyl tape for weather proofing. It is pliable and easy to form. It sticks to many surfaces very well and never hardens. You can see how pliable this is from the way it arrived in the box. It must have been stored on its side which flattened out the roll on one side :). I will get a lot of use from this around the house and on the RV. I think it is a good value at $15. It comes with a plastic putty knife as a bonus.

> 3 dayI had some boat portholes that leaked every time I hit a wave, as the old bedding had dried out. After removal and a little cleanup, I used this tape to reseal them. The one inch was a little wide, so I applied it to the porthole flange, then using a sharp (new) box cutter, cut the excess off from the paper side before removing the paper. This stuff is really sticky, but using one hand to lightly pull on the cut piece while cutting worked well. It was a hot day, and this sticks to everything it touches. Once in position and screwed back on, it was ready for service - and I had it out recently and no more leaks. I feel this works better than the old method of bedding these portholes.
