Safety 1st Small Object Choking Tester

I purchased this to check my 17 month olds Playmobil, Lego Duplo, and Learning Resources play food sets. The item is solid plastic and has brief instructions printed on the side. We tested about 100 different items that day. It held up just fine. As for its accuracy, we havent had any accidents so far, and obviously use this tester with discretion and common sense. It would be better if the tester came with more detailed instructions on identifying choking hazards, like whether longer objects that fit within the diameter of the tube are considered choking hazards. Generally speaking, this is a pretty awesome tool to have around the house with kids under 3.

I use this product in a class I teach to demonstrate the importance of keeping small objects away from children and then I give them one to take home and test there play areas.

I work at a daycare where there are children of all ages. We have to test the toys we put out to make sure the smaller children cannot choke on them. This is the second time we have bought this item. We had one we used for years and years, then it got misplaced. So, we ordered another one from Amazon. This is an ideal item for anyone who has small children.

Since I don’t know whether the numerous sellers here on Amazon even do product safety testing, but the selection and pricing is good, I find this tool very useful. I already eliminated and returned several toys based on them failing this test and feel much more confident choosing the toys for my baby.

we are new grandparents (I have the bumper sticker to prove it) and this good for us and he mom (we ordered 2) for now and he future. she is with child again.

Loved the idea but realized common sense would work better than using this product. Waste of money. Just compare everything to a golf ball.

My husband was very concerned about choking hazard-sized toys, so we bought this to test toys as they come into our house. I had heard that the toilet paper tube test was not accurate because it is a bigger diameter than an actual tester. We own toys marketed for ages 1-3 which fit through a toilet paper tube but which do not fit through this tester, so Im glad we got this to test accurately.
