Well made and highly versatile set of helping hands. The magnetic base is a great size, and provides a hefty, very sturdy base for the hands. This set comes with four alligator clip terminated helping hands, which have magnetic bases - 2 short lengths, 2 long. The length of the hands is bendable but maintains the shape you leave them in, even when holding something a little heavier, like a well populated circuit board. The alligator clips have rubber on the tips to prevent damage to things like thin wires. There is also a ring light which has a longer length, all bendable, and with a magnetic base just like the helping hands. The light is usb powered and features a magnifying glass in the center if you need it. All in all a fantastic set.

Im only giving this a 4 star review b/c of what I consider to be a manufacturer oversight. Why in the world would you put the power switch close to the plug? It really should be next to the light or on the light itself for ease of use. Also, the magnifying glass arms length is too long compared to the square base.

So far its working as expected

The metal base is nice and heavy and the magnets are good and strong. Couldnt ask for more really.

This is super nice. I have used the little junky helping hands before with the little cast iron base and I hated them. This one is perfect. Its VERY heavy so it is stable and the magnets on the arms and light are very strong so you can place them anywhere and they work. The light is just bright enough to work and it changes color temperatures so you can see your work better. The Magnifying glass has some parallax due to its size but it still is clear. Overall this is great.

If you’re doing a lot of tedious soldering or reworking this will really help you do easier, better quality jobs. Quality of the parts is solid, and several of my friends are also using this workstation with great results
