In my personal opinion, these are some of the best line work markers out there. Especially if you need to do a bunch of fine stippling in a drawing. Theyre consistent with ink flow and make nice clean lines. Bought a new set to get back into drawing a bit. As a designer, these are also great for doing basic line work for comps for logos, etc or any other fine detail black and white hand drawn samples youre doing for clients/work.

SAKURA Pigma Micron Gray, 10 Pens, Piece My artistically inclined daughter loves painting and illustrating using a variety of different media and this is a very versatile set, with Sakuras expected high quality level. This set exceeds expectations and does not disappoint!

This set of Sakura Pigma pens offers a really nice range of grays and tips. The archival quality ink looks great and doesnt bleed. I tested on a wide range of papers with good results. The 10 tips ensure you can get the desired effects every time. Sakura pens are always high quality and easily recommended.

Ive always preferred micron pens, and these are excellent. I like sketching in pen, but black pens make it hard to build off of them. In addition, these are, of course, great for shading. I like to sketch in the light grey first, do line art with the 003 black pens (not in this pack), and shade with both the light and dark greys. Although you only get two grey tones, with a combination of solid shading and crosshatching I can get a much wider range of tones than with only black. If you already like microns I highly recommend these. If you are new to microns be aware that they are a bit delicate, so always press lightly as possible, especially the smallest sizes. The brush pens, frankly, are not very good, as they fray really quickly. They keep a bit longer if you use it on smoother paper, but will likely still be the first ones in your collection to go. If you need a brush pen, look into refillable (fiber) brush pens or refillable watercolor pens. The ones Ive tried tend to come with different ink (usually water based or lower quality) than these here, but you can buy the ink elsewhere. Be aware that these greys lean just a tad cooler, so if you absolutely need a warm grey then search elsewhere.

When I read a few months ago that these were being released, I kept looking for them, but couldnt find them. Im so glad theyre finally available! I use Sakura Pigma Microns (in black) for urban sketching and line-and-watercolor work, and have always counted on the fact that the marks will not budge on the paper, no matter how much water I use, or how many layers I put down. This gray set is no different in that regard. I always felt the black was a little too present, and that tones of gray would be nicer to work with... and these are, for my use. I used the darker gray for the outline and the lighter gray for the shading; I shouldve reversed that for this example - which I did with the size 05s - but it was just a quick doodle, and you get the idea. There was no budging when I added the watercolor, and the line tone is much more subtle than black. I hope at some point the gray pens will be available in the 005 size, as thats my favorite to work with. These would be lovely to use for pen and ink techniques as illustrated in the manufacturers photos, and will give artists an additional edge in terms of tones/shading. Just as good as the originals. Glad theyre finally here.

The set has different shades of gray. Two different grays and black. I like how they work together. The pens writes smooth.

These are my favorite pens as they come in a wide variety of tips and have a long life. While these are waterproof - they do say they are not made for going through the washing machine. I do use mine to write on tags and they last for about 11 months of going through the washer. 10 pen set includes 1 each of 4 points sizes in Light Cool Gray and Cool Gray: Micron 01 - 0.25 mm, Micron 05 - 0.45mm, Micron 10 - 0.60mm fineliner pens and Pigma Brush + Micron 05 & Micron 10 in GRAY ink. Pigma pigment based ink is waterproof, chemical and fade resistant, bleed free, quick drying and pH neutral. Pigma ink colors are derived from single pigment colors for color consistency. Non-Toxic Long lasting No bleeding Works well for watercolors as it will not bleed when wet! Fair price

I gifted these pens to my buddys wife for her work. Shes a tattoo artist full time and a part time graphic designer. Ive since asked her what she thought and she loves them. She frequently uses them for sketches of tattoos at work as well as for quick drafting of designs at home.

Ive used black Sakura Pigma Micron pens in the past, but I have never tried any of their gray pens. I am really happy with this set - the formula and quality are just like I would expect from the brand, and none of them are dried out or damaged. I appreciate the range of sizes included for each color too, including the two brush pens for shading with the gray tones. I would definitely recommend this set, either for yourself or as a gift for an artist (amateur or trained!). Microns were some of the first tools I used in my college art programs, and they really are some of my favorite pens. Id highly recommend them.

As an artist, I am always using whatever medium I can get my hands on to do various types of artwork. Finding a good assortment of Micron Pens is not always easy for me. This pack is wonderful. HOW THESE COME The package these come in is fantastic. Not only does it give the measurements and shape of the head, but it marks the place where the pen is with how it looks. It is excellent as a reference for a quick access to grab the pen I want ARE THE PENS MARKED? The pens are marked at the tops with color and size. They also have letters to indicate what kind of tip. VARIOUS TIPS I love the various sizes of the tips. Having a brush tip in the bunch is also fantastic. PERFORMANCE I have uploaded a picture I drew. It was a copy of a rubber stamp (I made it much larger) that someone did a demo of with markers. I drew mine freehand with these micron markers. I used gray and black. As you can see from the picture, the alcohol markers did not smear the gray or black micron pens. THE BOTTOM LINE I love these pens. They are still pretty new but I have used them a lot. I hope they wont dry out fast. I will update if they do. MY RATING FIVE STARS. This is a fabulous assortment of color and shapes. I love that they are marked on the package too. I hope to store them in there for now until I cant anymore. The marked spots are great for reference and quick use.
