> 3 dayI ordered it as a new product and it came sealed in a Samsung package. The problem is I has someone else’s personal data and outlook emails on it. 20 gb to be exact. I found out through Norton 360 when it said it had a virus on it in some files on the brand new drive! I can’t explain how disappointed I was to get a used drive that had a history of 269 gb written to it! Buyer be ware!

Greater than one weekNot much to say about the drive itself as it is a well-known performer. What I really came here to review was the Samsung Data Migration utility. I plugged this new drive into a M.2 external (UGreen) enclosure and ran the Samsung DM utility on my machine. It (image) transferred everything as advertised, once done I swapped the drive with the one inside my laptop and it booted right up. Be sure to read and follow the utilitys instructions. It is notable that this drive uses a generic Windows driver under Windows 11 but does not impact performance one bit (pun intended).

> 3 dayRecently purchased the Samsung EVO 970 Plus M.2 Nvme 2TB drive, installed it in a Lenovo T490, and discovered the SSD drive runs hot. Samsung Magician reported 51-53C idle temperature, toggling between High and Too High status as temperatures rose during increased SSD operations, usually hitting a max of 61-63. These temperatures may be normal or acceptable for the NVME technology, as internet search seems to suggest, however the high/too high status reported through Samsungs own Magician application was concerning enough for me to either consider returning the drive or finding a heatsink solution (I decided on the latter). I ended up purchasing generic heatsink product which includes a thermal pad and copper heatsink plate and gave it a shot. With the heatsink my SSD temperature is at least 10C lower when idling. Now no longer worried about temperature. Back in business with a fast SSD drive with larger storage capacity!
