> 3 dayIve been using Samsung drives in my main build for 6+ years now and never had a failure. This drive should be no different. I downloaded Samsung magician and made sure it shipped with the latest firmware. Runs a little warm under my motherboard heat spreader, but that seems normal for gen 4 drives without active cooling.

> 3 dayAs a consumer of the Samsung 980 Pro NVMe SSD, I have experienced both positive and negative aspects of this product. Firstly, I recorded impressive read and write speeds of 2244 MB/s and 2180 MB/s respectively using an external ACASIS 40Gbps NVMe Enclosure. However, I noticed that the temperatures of the drive can get up to 39-40 degrees Celsius, which has been a concern for some users.

> 3 dayFirst Libre was bricked out of box. Replacement one works flawlessly. If you get a bad one, return for another because when they work, they really work.

> 3 dayI didnt realize the fans in the Precision 5770 were so close to the SSD sockets. The heatsink was tall enough that it hit the fan case and wouldnt allow the drive to seat in the slot correctly. I might have been able to force it, but I didnt want to damage the slot. I returned the drive for the same model without the heatsink (and it works great). I like the idea of a built-in heatsink - but not for this laptop.

> 3 dayJust installing it in a new Win 10 Dell Optiplex 3070 SFF tonight, so will revisit as I get time on the drive. BUT, this SSD needs a M.2 Standoff and Screw to install in my machine. I dont know if that is universal but I expect so because otherwise the SSD sits right on top of the motherboard on the screw side (on an angle). There was a screw in my MB but it wasnt obvious until I went to install it that it has to have a standoff and associated screw. I dont mind that it needs the standoff but, geez, at least include one or call it out in the specs. Im lucky enough to have a lifetime of hardware bits so could cobble one up. If youre ordering this drive, search for M.2 Standoff and Screw and get a kit of them for $5-6.

Greater than one weekI hate these products are so expensive. It was at the memory is not bigger in these gaming consoles with game download these days. However, it is almost a necessary purchase anymore. This product works as advertised, and I have had no issues with installing, overheating, or filling up the memory thus far.
