> 3 dayI was pretty shocked when receiving this hard drive. So super small and yet a terabyte of space. I hooked it up to my iMac via USB-C and use it as a Time Machine back up drive. I was able to backup 350GB in less than 15 minutes. Works great. Super happy with this one. You cant go wrong with the Samsung. Great packaging and comes with 2 different cables depending on your needs.

> 3 dayWorked well when connected as an external drive - backed up 400+ Gbytes in just a few minutes. Couldnt get the included app to work, which was unnecessary for my usages.

23-11-2024I purchased the T7 for use as a TimeMachine backup drive on a new Apple M1 Mac mini. The drive itself functions well in that capacity and has performed excellent. The problem is that the software included with the drive does not work properly with Big Sur, insisting that the drive is not connected. As I understand it, during initial install, a far too subtle prompt requires that a permission be set. If you miss taking action, mid-install, the software fails to work and you have no provision for fixing it. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not trigger the prompt again. So, for MacOS, the Samsung software is very poorly executed.

> 3 dayI use a gaming laptop so I was worried that any games I downloaded on this might run slow, but they run super fast and the storage is amazing! The actual item was way smaller than expected too. It fits in my palm.

> 3 dayUsing the Samsung T7 2TB SSD, attached to a MacBook Pro, it has some serious internal issues. It will start off blazing fast for writing to it, but increasingly gets warmer until its flat out hot, and the write speed slows way down. Ive had it for two days and have done three heavy transfers to it for work/editing, and it does not perform well after a few minutes of use. First transfer of 400Gb took 10 minutes...second transfer of 500Gb took 40 minutes. What the??? Both transfers were from T5 SSDs. And then working with it, writing a video edit to the drive...got to 77% very quickly on a 45 minute edit...by that point the SSD was hot, and slowed down to maybe 1/10 the write speed. Im going to say, dont waste your money on the T7s...get the T5s, have never had a problem with them. Going to return this one.
