The polished chrome handles look worlds better than the old discolored brass Schlage handles that used to be on my closet doors. They are still high quality and feel great. The only thing that got me was the new handles use a backing plate inside that hits the molly bolts in the closet door causing them to not sit flush. The older flair handles were mostly hollow inside. I had to grind out the molly bolts and use long nuts and bolts all the way through the doors instead. Not something everyone will run into - only those that stripped out the original screw holes. Glad this style is still available.

Doesnt quite match my cabinet knobs in the kitchen as its too light. Im going to keep looking for a better match but love the style of this handle.

I purchased a Schalge locking privacy door lever in bright chrome from Amazon for my master bedroom. The existing fixture was the non-locking version installed 12 years ago. Installation was simple since I was replacing existing Schlage hardwaredidnt have to remove the existing door strike and slide latch. As you can see from the photograph, this new locking lever (left door) and the 12 year old dummy lever (right door) are practically identical and you may not even know they were installed 12 years apart. They hold up pretty well. If I have to gripe about one thing, the edges of the metal collar that butt up to the door had some stamping wrinkles from manufacturing. The collar will pop off if you pry on it a little bit so I was able to rotate the collar so that I didnt see any wrinkles - so no big deal. Still a 4.5-5 star product.

This is a standard passage lock. Came with everything needed and was easy to install. Really like the look of the antique brass. Highly recommended.

I could not get the handle on the lock side to remove. Then I discovered that I had to change the position of the cylinder with the key to the central position. At that point it nearly fell apart. I guess I should read the instructions more carefully. Matches all my other handles.

I like the quality of Schlage handles, compared to other brands. Some are hollow behind the grip, but Schlage are solid. They are also easier to install than cheaper brands. We have French doors and only one side needed an operating catch. The other is for show. That being said, I gave four stars because I wish the screws did not show. I think there should be a cover cap that fits over the screw section so that it matches the partner door. Even with a non-locking closet handle, it would still look more finished if the screws did not show on outside. In retrospect, I think I could have used a regular double handle set and achieved that look, but it would have required a hole through the door. Seeing I was replacing an existing dummy handle, I didnt want the extra work of drilling a hole. Lazy, I guess.

Great door handle, not like the ones you find at the so-called home stores. This is much better quality.

I was thrilled to get this dummy lever for my foyer closet. I bought the matching right hand one as well. The finish is a gorgeous matte edged with copper. However, the shallow screw provided is not sufficient unless you have a solid core wood door. It is not long enough to grab the wood and the weight of these pulls (they are a substantial and weighty) will make the situation worse. If you have hollow core bi-folds (standard builder stock), the handle over time will loosen and fall off the door. My husband has fixed all our current polished brass handles by buying longer screws and using a washer on the back of the door. They hold great now. I called Schlage and they have no longer screws to use with these levers. So now we will have to buy standard screws and touch up the heads with matte black paint. What a hassle. I took off 2 stars for this problem since the screws are woefully inadequate.
