Schluter Kerdi Drain Stainless Steel ABS Version KD2/ABS/E

This drain is the only way to go if building a shower using a topical membrane system. I set it in a base of deck mud and used redgard as a waterproofer. Easy enough for a first-timer.

This is a great product. Does take a little time to understand how to install - just watch the installation videos from Schluter. Also watch out for overpricing by some sellers, this product should sell for about $100

I really like the Schluter ecosystem. My latest shower is on the second floor and this is the only drain/waterproofing system that I trust to avoid showerpan failure. Schluter provides quality instructional video online for the DIYer and there is more out there from other building content creators.
