Money well spent AND reusable

If you work with metal you know how difficult it can be to remove mill scale. This product does an excellent job and does not become ineffective after a few minutes. It also leaves a nice finish on the steel. It is also effective in removing rust. I do wish it would last longer but still worth the reduction in aggravation.

Ok so these are ludicrous overpriced but I decided to give them a shot after reading that they last a long time. Performance on steel is top notch. Tore right through light rust and mill scale almost effortlessly, leaving a surface that is ready to weld. Durability- I got maybe 30 minutes out of one pad. That doesnt seem THAT bad until you consider that these are $15 a pop. Im sold on the concept but not this particular product at this price point. Going to try some cheaper options under $10.

this thing remove mill scale like a eraser ! and does not clog up / pile up the scale to the disk like the flap wheels does. it remove the scale and gives a well polished shine to the surface. Must have in the shop if you are doing metal work.. it is little pricy though.

Best option for mill scale removal from steel. Also great for surface rust removal.

Exactly what I needed to remove mill surface from plate steel when prepping to weld-no other abrasive product that I have tried compares to this-perfect! Typical 3M quality. Longevity of the disc is as yet unknown,but is a minor concern for me-I will purchase more if need be....

These disks are very good at removing the paint and leaving the metal below in good condition

It worked great for removing mill scale they just dont last as you would think for tha price. I gave it a 4star ratings because of the price and how long they last

Decent at removing hot rolled millscale when new but gets very hard to use and requires a lot of pressure once it starts to wear, I just used an Aluminum Oxide grinding wheel to get the millscale off and a flap disc to smooth it out. Faster and cheaper even though you’re going over it twice. These weren’t worth the money for me. Three stars since they did work well when they worked and left a beautiful finish.

went thru 7 layers of paint in no time at all,,the whole car took about 3 to 4 discs
