SDHC + USB 2020 Adapter KIT with 4 GB Micro SD Will Work ON DS DSI 2DS 3DS

There were some random games already downloaded that Ill probably never touch but that doesnt matter. The cartridge works great and I will add more games when I can myself!

I bought mine through Xiyouism. They were very helpful when I had technical trouble with the card. It works now.

This r4 card can run ONLY ds games but works on any ds model, including the 3ds. It does have a timebomb, but that can be easily fixed by installing YSmenu (look up “how to install ysmenu on r4 card” on youtube and problem solved). I recommend swapping out the 4gb sd card for a larger one if you plan on playing more than a handful of games, but be warned the card can only read up to 32gb sd cards, so don’t try to go any bigger than that. If you have any other issues there are hundreds of tutorials online on how to set one of these things up.

Item arrived and it does not work.

After 2021, this card will not work any more because it has a timebomb. When 2021 hits, the software says it is unusable. You can load a custom kernel onto the card, or you can be lazy like me and set your ds lite year to 2000 and wait for 21 years until I get the dreaded message again. May not work if you have a device that connects to internet, but it also may. I dont know. Everything else works.

This card came in the standard package within a package that Amazon employs and I was happy to discover that it required no setup and I could plug it into my system for it to work. My only critique and why this doesnt have a 5 star review is that the USB MicroSD adapter was not recognized by my computer, so I assume that it was non-functional. As the device was already functioning, its not a major problem, just a mild inconvenience as I wanted to customize the content closer to my own tastes.

When I got the R4 I was skeptical... it didnt work! It was supposed to be plug n play. BUT.. I reached out to them thru Amazon. They helped me get the card working, though its not loaded with anything, had to load my own ROM files which was fine. End result: very very pleased everything worked out ok! Playing any and all the DS games I ever wanted to play, with no problems. Was nervous about the possibility of the eventual time bomb so I just set the clock back to 2001 like other reviewers had suggested.

This thing has kept me so entertained, and let’s me play the older games I don’t have access to anymore. I’ve heard of people having problems with theirs breaking pretty fast, but I’ve used mine daily for over a month and nothing bad has happened. I’m still worried that it will break in the near future tho.
