This is a nice external drive for storing whatever you need one and has tons of space. However, its listed as a gaming drive and its about the worst thing for gaming! I can barely run small games off it without it constantly lagging and freezing causing the game to not respond. I currently have about 5 small Renpy games on it taking up less than 5 GB of space and its already struggling to keep up because the transfer rate isnt great. I am partially to blame though as I know SSD is the way to go and SATA cant handle games any newer than like 2008 lol I would recommend as a good priced external for an 8 TB but defiantly not for gaming.

Aloys artwork is amazing and looks like hand painted. The hard drive works fast with my PS5. It worths every penny!

Literally lost so much saved game data and downloaded games, movies family photos of my deceased younger brother who died at 32 3 years ago AND my dad who died this December. Ive tried to salvage this hard drive on 5 DIFFERENT DEVICES!

Plug in, format the drive, and you are good to go. For anyone not clear on format; the PS4 does it for you. Just follow the prompts in the system settings menu. The whole process literally only took a few minutes. The PS4 continues to operate the same, so the user view doesnt change. Once setup, just continue your normal routine. Heres the thing...this external HD does not go into a sleep mode on its own. It depends how you have your USB ports configured. This can also be adjusted in the system settings. Not a big deal, just something to be aware of. Especially if you dont want the external HD running 24/7. There are some great vid tutorials online for your reference.

It was working great until I moved the gaming setup from the bedroom into the living room. Once it was turned on again the drive wasn’t even registering as connect to my PlayStation . But again, everything else about this purchase was actually quite awesome , and it ran perfect the entire time I had it …til it just didn’t. It’s like having a perfect girl and you’re in a perfect relationship …. Until you wake up one day and she’s left you with not a single explanation as to why …. And she took your bag with her

Takes less than 2 minutes to connect to my PS4. Plenty of storage. A+++

works great! never fails me and holds all the games I couldnt have before. super reliable! easy to install as well. i had it for a couple of months and the only downside is sometimes when I turn of my ps4 and go to play one of the games its super glitchy. i just restart my ps4 and it works normal again. doesnt happen very often at all maybe like once ever 2 months which I dont mind.

Recently I picked up a PS4 Pro and quickly was filling up the console storage. Decided to look at a few different external portable HDD. Felt that the 2TB drive would meet my storage demands. This drive was Official Licensed for Playstation. Normally that means a slightly higher price point, but this was a great deal. Connected the drive with the provided cable to my PS4 Pro and formatted the drive. Moved my downloaded games over to the new drive. Took a good day, but was well worth it. My PS4 Pro now has space on the original drive. The new drive has my currently downloaded games and games Im currently playing. No noise or heat issues. The drive works perfectly with the PS4 Pro. The front has the PS logo and Seagate is molded into the front as a big S. This is again the portable drive (no power cord needed) gets power from the provided cable and the PS4. See photos.
