This is a fun game. we played it as a family many times. I never thought a product would come around that would make me want deep down inside to be Hitler. LOL

This is an amazing game for a group of friends. The game has simple rules, and the complexity of play comes from maintaining your poker face to outsmart the competition. This edition is amazing, it has beautiful materials for all the important bits and quality cardstock for the cards. Quick summary: 5-10 players get a small packet which contains two vote cards (Ja/Nein or Yes/No) and a secret identity. This identity could be Liberal, Fascist, or Hitler. The goal for Fascists is to pass Fascist resolutions and to try and elect Hitler as Chancellor. The goal for Liberals is to enact Liberal resolutions while preventing Hitler from getting elected. The twist? Nobody knows what identities were in the sealed packets, so (except in small games) the Fascists dont know who Hitler is, Hitler doesnt know who the Fascists are, and nobody knows whether players are Liberal or Fascist. Its up to the players to figure this out during gameplay through deception and secrecy. What makes it great: This is a secret identity game much like the more common Werewolf. That concept is a lot of fun, but this game adds a lot of neat mechanics that ratchet up the tension. Once liberals pass enough resolutions, they gain access to bullets to try and kill Hitler. Except Liberals dont want to Fascists to know who they are, so they may have to conceal their identity by voting for Fascist policies which make the election of Hitler more likely! And vice versa! Plus theres the obvious political allusion, so players tend to automatically roleplay as though this is actually happening in Germany in the 40s and things can get very serious (or very goofy) quickly. A liberal player might spend the whole game pronouncing things with a fake German accent as though theyre the secret Hitler, while your fascists might play up to Allied stereotypes (or vice versa!). The rules also change to tailor the game for larger or smaller groups, with the game generally getting better with more players, but being balanced at all totals from 5 to 10. Definitely play Secret Hitler if you have 5+ players in your group.

This is the most fun I’ve had with a board game in a long time. It’s extremly refreshing to have a game that is this fun a larger group. The more people you have the better! I have played this game around two dozen times with 4 VERY different groups of people. One was my extremly advanced board game group, one being my buddies who only play games when I bust them out, one being my medium experienced weekly group and the last being a group of 10 that think Cards Against Humanity is the only party game worthy of playing. Every single group had an absolute BLAST playing this game. We were all yelling at each other, friendships were temporarily lost, the second a round ended everyone demanded that we start a new one, multiple people ordered the game while we were playing it. I’ve played a lot of board games and I haven’t seen a game that is this entertaining and playable for all levels of board gamers. Quaterbacking games can be tricky at times, it’s hard to explain how this style of game works to people who have never played games like werewolf, mafia, Avalon (the lying through your teeth, arguing etc) but I love the look on people’s face once they figure out how to play this game. For 35$ this is a must have game for people who gather in large groups. It’s for all levels of expierence and I haven’t met a person who didn’t love this game.

I got this game for a friend (now roommate) right before Covid so now that we live together we wanted a roomie game night. We had 7 people total and have all played it at least once with one person playing it a bit more. We watched the video, remained a little confused, but did a practice round and caught on quick (although we found out we flubbed a rule or two). This game is the most fun you can have with people who are all or nothing! I was a fascist twice, liberal once, and hitler once. The pure adrenaline of trying to keep it together while trying to make the right alliances is my favorite part. If you are a bad liar or have an obvious poker face, pray your Allie’s know how to redirect. I honestly adore the lying aspect of being a fascist or hitler, but being on the other side of not knowing the truth is exciting too. I think there could be a learning curve and some might not enjoy the gameplay but if you find the right group it enhances the game. I’ve never seen my friends yell, accuse, and turn on each other as fast as this game did.

Its a wonderful game to play with friends. Its hard to learn at first, but once everyone is on board its an addictive experience. Ideally for 8 PLAYERS. Superb! The game itself is very well made and materials feel premium.
