> 3 dayIt is a good vacuum. It doesnt last as long as I would like it to but then again it is a car vacuum. It gets the job done in between my deep cleanings. Good buy overall.

Greater than one weekLets face it: meal times with toddlers are frequently messy occasions. Our daughter is particularly skilled at generating incredible amounts of crumbs, especially when she attacks her meals with techniques borrowed from the Cookie Monster school of table manners. Ah well, at least its cute to watch. It does, however, leave an aftermath of crumbs and culinary debris that need to be dealt with. You could, of course, use a whisk broom and dustpan, paper towels, or other tools for the task, or you could use a vacuum cleaner and just get it done. The problem with most vacuum cleaners is that you have to haul the large unit out of the cleaning closet, plug it in, and re-wind the cord afterwards. Thats a lot of effort just to clean up some crumbs. Enter the Shark Ion W1: a handheld, cordless, incredibly easy-to-use vacuum cleaner for small jobs. And just like that, the annoyance of having to drag out the big tool just to clean up my daughters post-meal rubble is gone. Heres why I really like this vacuum cleaner: 1) Its extremely easy to use. It has two buttons. Yes, TWO. One of them is the power button, which you press to turn the device on and off. The other is the button that opens the canister so you can empty it. The two buttons look a lot alike and are right next to each other, so fortunately the canister-emptying one is more of a slide than a button, which prevents you from opening the canister when you dont intend to. 2) Its very lightweight, which makes it super easy to wield. I find it to be the perfect overall length; its long enough to grab some crumbs off the floor without too much exertion, but still short enough to feel like a compact unit. 3) It has two useful attachments. One is an upholstery-type tool, and the other is a narrow-opening crevice tool. The latter has a really neat little brush that flips down when you need it - a great way of getting two tools in one. 4) It has a very convenient charging station with a small footprint. Just drop the vacuum into the slot in the charger and it will be ready for the next mess. 5) Its easy to empty: Just hold it over a trash can, press the release button, and the canister opens up to empty its contents. 6) The filter is easy to clean: just pop it out and shake it over a trash can. 7) Reminder instructions on how to do things like open the filter cover, remove the filter, and clean the filter are printed right on the device. Very handy! Anything I dont like about this vacuum cleaner? A few small picky things: 1) Its not a loud device, but its noise can be a little annoying; its surprisingly high pitched and kind of whiny. 2) I wish there was a way to mount it on the wall! I would love to have this thing on the wall of our laundry room instead of having to find a small shelf space for it. ----------------------------------------------------------- A FEW TIPS FOR USING THIS VACUUM CLEANER ----------------------------------------------------------- - When using the brush attachment, if you hold the unit too vertically the suction wont be effective because the suction opening will be too far above the surface you are cleaning (see my photo which demonstrates this). If you have it angled more than about 45 degrees youll lose suction power. Unfortunately this means you may have to bend over quite a bit to vacuum things off the floor. - There is a hinged flap inside the vacuum which you can see when you open the filter cover (show in one of my photos). I found that debris tends to accumulate around this hinge, so you may want to check it and clean it out periodically. Overall Im very pleased with this little cleaner. Its not something you would use as your primary vacuum cleaner, but for small messes it is absolutely fantastic.

> 3 dayI had high hopes for this because I LOVE all my other shark vacuums. I also have a handheld black & decker that is AMAZING. In comparing the two, the shark definitely is not as good. The sharks suction is 1/2 of the B&D, the filter is so tiny you need to clean it after every clean up, and it doesnt even suck up sunflower seeds. I wouldnt buy it again. I would suggest that you buy the B&D one though - great suction, better capacity, and easy to clean.

> 3 dayI bought this back in Oct last year and have felt guilty at least once a week for not putting in a revierw. This is the best hand held vacuum EVER. Tiny collection cup, but not a problem since I just use it for small jobs. Picks up pieces of gravel off the stairs, dog hair easy peasy. you will love it.

18-11-2024Its slim and has good power. I got it to clean up kitty litter tracking on the floor. It works perfectly. It is nice a slender, so it can be hidden away when not in use. I love it.

> 3 dayThis one doesn’t hold a charge very long, maybe 8 minutes, but it’s enough to do what it’s designed for. I thought it would hold a charge longer than that though, for something that costs $100.

> 3 dayThis has been a reliable vac for cleaning up dog hair and quick spills, jobs up to a couple minutes. People who are disappointed that it will not clean out their entire SUV for 20 minutes like a shop vac have very unrealistic expectations, look at the marketing photos. The downside is that it holds very little dirt in the canister, has to be emptied very often. Also you need to hold the canister when you press the release button otherwise it will fling dirt everywhere. The release button should be further from the on/off button to avoid confusion. If you find the vacuum losing power or even shutting off by itself then you need to empty the little cone filter behind the main canister, this also gets clogged up really quickly.

> 3 dayThis vacuum not only looks and feels great but is extremely powerful. I recommend this to friends frequently. Just be careful on the canister eject button..it’s to close to the power button. My son vacuums hard to reach places more than he used to because this makes it fun.Good buy.

Greater than one weekThis thing is too expensive to only be usable for 15 minutes max. The suction is really decent (does not like to get anything bigger than rice though) but its not super pet hair friendly, its not like particularly better at getting pet hair than any other vacuum even with accessories. I bought it in June of 2022 and this month its decided its done. I can have it charging for two days and it dies as soon as I pull it out. The filters clean, I empty it frequently, its cute and convenient just really wish it was more powerful and lasted longer. I can only get small sections of things done at a time. Not expecting it to be a full sized vacuum but I am expecting it to last more than 10-15 minutes.
