Kick it... ...up a notch. Your Luxury Shave. This does that; at least it does for me. Its about the largest shave bowl I have (I have a few). Ive transitioned to mostly using those hoyty-toyty shave creams, like the ones that come in a tub or a tin. Still, I think this will fit pretty much any shave soap puck that you throw at it, with room to spare. Normal, rectangular bars of soap, probably not so much. Im pretty amused with the picture of this on the product page (image 3) filled to the brim with cream; thats a lot of shaving. So, these are going to have their own individual look, characteristics, color variations etc. Mine is an attractive light green and the entire bottom of the bowl is a sort of mottled rusty gold. There are a couple of areas at the top/rim where I can see a *sort of* crack. Its not actually cracked, but you can see a sort of line. I used one of my badger shave brushes and some cream from a tube and created a nice lather inside this. Very little chance of spilling any lather, again this is a pretty big bowl. Nice gift for myself, glad I ordered it. I hope this review has enabled you to make an informed purchase decision. I rarely give an overall 5 star rating.

Its a nice little bowl made of green onyx. I have no idea what Ill do with it, but it can sit around looking pretty until then. It arrived well protected, encased in Styrofoam. The box it came in was not the nicest looking thing and had a lot of tape all over. I dont know if it was a return or if the company is just obsessive over protection. It didnt matter to me, but if youre looking for a nice gift presentation take that into account. The price of $9.99 seems reasonable.

The marble feels great in the hand. However, the shape of the bowl isnt really conducive to getting a good shaving lather. It should be a bit more shallow. Soap tends to collect in a ring around the bottom, which requires concerted effort to grab with the brush.

Wow! This is a beautiful bowl. The stone used is really nice looking. I love that theres some translucent parts in it (Im not sure if the pictures caught it). Its unique looking. One thing I will note is that it isnt very thick. I have a feeling if this drops on a hard surface, it will easily break. The moral of the story - be careful with it. Now, I need to decide what to do with it. Its so nice, I dont think I want to use it as a shave bowl and get it all dirty (well, soapy). I may just sit it on my desk and put paper clips in it or something like that. That way I can see it more often to appreciate it. Overall, I am a fan.

Heavy duty: Im skeptical this bowl is entirely made of marble, but its a very hefty bowl. Its easily the heaviest shaving bowl in my collection. Aesthetic: I love the aesthetic of this bowl. This bowl looks great with every safety razor and shave brush I pair it with. (If youre passionate about wet shaving, youll understand) Size: In terms width and height, this bowl measures out exactly to the listing. Lather: Typically, wider, slightly shorter shave bowls help produce the highest amount of lather. However, as you can see in my photos, its very easy to produce large amounts of lather. (I used 2 dime sized scoops of shave soap, and lathered for less than 1 minute with a fine haired badger brush, to produce that lather) Bottom line: I have shave bowls in my collection that run 6 times the premium, of this bowl, but dont look as aesthetical pleasing, or are as well made. I like this shave bowl enough, that Im going to pick up every other design offered. 5 stars
