> 24 hourWell...I dont know if I can officially call it an upgrade, being that I own a few Seagate drives and have never had a problem with any of them. But this drive is neck and neck with my Seagates. I love the color. Its the same color as my old motorcycle. Looks great along side a Macbook (which also was the same color of my bike....ok....ill stop now.) I was worried this drive would be a bit too heft because of the added real estate for the additional hidden wire, but it really is not a problem. And its also not as thick as I thought it was going to be. It is still bigger than my GoFlex, but since it has about 650 more GB than my GoFlex, I wont complain. Also, the hidden wire seems to stick out a little bit. I can never seem to get it fully hidden in the wire storage area, but its not enough to be annoying. I am very careful with my electronics, so I dont plan on dropping or spilling anything on it, so I didnt really care so much for the military specs. More so than anything, I needed a 1TB drive that was small, and I loved the fact that it had the integrated wire that can be stored. I was going to go with the

> 24 hourThe product was delivered as ordered and works well. Its my first USB 3.0 external drive and I am especially pleased with the speed. The drive also appears to be rugged, as advertized. The thicker case makes it a little bulky, but may pay off in the long run in durability. IMPORTANT NOTE: the drive uses a more-or-less proprietary USB cable (full-sized, male on both ends). The cable itself is about 2.5 inches long (or short) and fits securely into a slot in the side of the drive, so it will be hard to lose. The packaging also included an extension cable (which does NOT fit into the drive). I think it would be hard to lose the little cable, but if you do youre going to have to do some searching for a replacement. Why still 5 stars? I picked up on all the quirks before I bought, so I got what I paid for. And did I say that the drive is fast?

> 24 hourThese are good, super convenient hard drives. Mine were initially formatted to the fat32 file system, so max file size was 4GB. They need to be re-formatted to either exfat or ntfs file system to store files over 4GB. I started out looking at 128 and 256GB usb thumb drives. Our family has plowed through prior 128GB thumb drives and it was time for something bigger. The price for these 1TB portable drives was very close to the prices for 256GB thumb drives and we dont need something small anyway. In fact I am still looking for my teeny, tiny, thin 64GB silver usb drive that had some important files on it. I am slowly beginning to accept that I will never find it and a gnat probably inhaled it off my coffee table or an ant carried it off to its nest to use as a table for the winter feast. After realizing I could get another 700GB of storage for about the cost of a 256GB thumb drive my next dilemma was which of the 3 versions of the Silicon Power 1TB portable to get: somewhat buff & water resistant, burly & water proof-ish, or rugged and impervious to H20 for protracted submersion times. For the few dollars more (around $4 more for each better model at time of purchase) I thought I better get the ruggedest, water-tightest version, knowing my tendencies toward extreme clutzery. Maybe you arent a clutz like (good for you!), but I bet you know someone who is that might touch or be in proximity to your new portable hard drive. Buy the more rugged version if only to save yourself from listening to them apologize to you for months on end. So far I have used the first drive to back up many GB of Steam games that I hope to never have to waste precious bandwidth downloading for the kids again and dragged the other drive off to back up a friends old hard drive on his server before switching out for a new hard drive. Both are working great so far and loving the flexibility, size, and convenience they offer. Transfer speeds are acceptable, but I wouldnt describe them as lightening fast by any stretch of the imagination. Still, a helluva deal.

> 24 hourI purchased this a little over a month ago and it has treated me great so far! As pictured, the drive comes with a short USB cord (~4 in, end to end) that snaps into a side compartment of the enclosure. This is a really handy feature that allows me to just pack up the drive and cord together, without having to worry about wrapping it up for transit. The drive also comes with a longer USB cord in case it is ever needed. Another thing I like about this drive is that there is no pre-installed software. I believe the WD and Seagate external drives come with software that cant be removed (hidden partition?). This is as close to buying an OEM drive and external enclosure that you will get... plus the added benefit of the ruggedness. As much as I would like to test dropping or submerging this drive, I will trust the others that have done so, and hope I never have to find out if it is as rugged as advertised myself. I am using this drive with a Macbook Pro, so am unable to take advantage of the USB 3.0 speeds, but the drive is working great with USB 2.0. I believe it came formatted as FAT32 and I have since reformatted it to HFS+ without problem. I couldnt be happier with the form factor, ruggedness, and simpleness of this product.

> 24 hourMy Many Pros: This is my fourth Silcon Power Armor A80 in the past 2 years. I just love them.I recommend them to my clients. They are fabulous for taking on the road when filming or doing photography. I love that they are waterproof because you never know when you are out in the field on the water shooting a surf video or on location shooting a hunt or short film and it starts to rain. Although I have never dropped one, I know that one of my clients dropped one of theirs on the pavement and the drive and footage were still intact when they delivered it to me for editing. Which brings me to the awesome 3 year warranty right out of the box! The drives store easily with my other equipment and the USB chord can be compactly stored in a slot right the side of the drive. Backup is fast and they work with both Mac and PC -USB 3.0 and 2.0. My only con: I only wish the backup and security software Silicon Power offers would be compatible with my Mac.

> 24 hourThis drive works great. Im very pleased with it to date. I wanted something more durable than my last portable USB drive which was a Seagate Freeagent GoFlex Pro. After using it for a couple of years, I had it sitting on top of a customers computer which was sitting on a carpeted floor. I turned my chair, must have snagged the USB cable to the Seagate drive and pulled the computer over. Mind you, the customer had a heavy UPS sitting on top of the computer. After everything fell over, the USP and the customers computer werent harmed, but my Seagate drive no longer worked. Thats why I purchased this drive. I saw a YouTube video of another purchaser dropping the drive and submersing it in water then powering it up without issue. When you travel a lot and use one of these drives frequently during your travels at various customer locations, I expect that this purchase will eventually more than pay for itself.

> 24 hourThis is a great hardened USB drive! I have not bought 3 of them, one for my wife (who was overseas when her other name-brand external HDD failed), one for my daughter (who will be going overseas) and one for myself, to replace a drive that I somehow misplaced (huh?) The form factor is great, with the USB port plugged with a rubber stopper to keep dirt and water out, and best of all, a small cable that is stored in the side of the case itself! How handy! The mil-spec rating seems to be holding so far, as I have not had any issues with any of the drives. I have not benchmarked them, but with USB 3.0 (connected to a 3.0 port, of course), it seems pretty quick, at least twice as fast as my USB 2.0 WD drive, and faster than my WD USB 3.0 drive.

> 24 hourAfter looking at all the external hard drives available for under $100 I settled on this one. The selling points to me were waterproof, shock proof and the 3 year warranty (Toshiba, WD, Seagate all have 1 year warranty on portable external hard drives). After receiving this and taking it out of the package it is very apparent that it is a quality external hard drive and built to last. I quickly hooked it up to my pc, formatted it to ntfs (it comes formatted as fat32) and added the partitions I wanted to separate my backups on multiple PCs. Everything worked as expected. In addition to durability, this external hard drive came with two cables....the 3 one that stores in the side of the hard drive case and a longer 2 foot cable to use at home. I used both and they worked as expected. When I am in need of another external hard drive I will look to Silicon power first.

> 24 hourI received my 1 TB Water Resistant Blue hard drive this just before this weekend. I initially loaded up my large music library, pictures and extensive library of e-pub documents. Then I started loading videos. I ran into the problem of no more than 4 GB file transfer FAT32 issue – ugh!! Unloaded everything, formatted the drive as NTFS and then RE-loaded it all. It seems to work even faster and this time all the video files moved very smoothly over. This is an outstanding product at an even more remarkable price. I have already shown it off at one family gathering and will be waving it around at another one in a few weeks. Everyone that sees it cannot believe the price versus the size and the specs. I have it teamed up with a RAVPower RP-WD01 Wireless WiFi-Disk & Built-in 3000mAh Li-Polymer Power Bank (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AQUMZRA/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i02?ie=UTF8&psc=1) which is an unbeatable combination – I heartily recommend you check it out. Takes that 1 TB of usable data and makes it available to up to five users at once. I mix sound for a large church and attend many seminars, camps and conferences throughout the year. I haul in large amounts of church equipment but I also tend to take my personal equipment with me wherever I go as I trust it to work when I need it as I need it. I am careful with my gear but real life happens. I have not dropped this YET nor have I submersed it in water, I hope I never do; however if it does happen, I have confidence that my information will be safe and accessible. I love the two cord option, the little one that snaps right in the side of the case and then the longer one which allows flexibility and is usually more practical.

> 24 hourThis is a very nice external hard drive. But, it was very slow! I had to reformat it. Not a quick format. To NTFS from Fat25 format in order to somewhat match the speed in my windows 7. once that was done I really did not have a problem speed wise. I was not happy with the waterproof seal that came off in my fingers when I opened it and I cant seem to get it to stay in place. the only other thing that bothers me with this hard drive is the description says that it is 3.0 Where? My computer is 3.0 . the port on this is a 2.0 . with those few exceptions and the reformatting it works fantastic! I would actually buy another one in the future.
