> 3 dayOne reason I purchased the Simplisafe home alarm system was the motion sensors. Before purchasing, I made sure the motion sensor, according to Simplisafes own advertising claims, would not be set off by pets. I have two 5 lb cats. Cats will set off the motion sensor! A false alarm ruined a beautiful sunny Sunday as I dropped everything - bike riding with a friend - to rush back to my house - a drive of 45 minutes. Police had already come and gone from my house. I called Simplisafe and they actually admitted that pets will set off the motion sensor. Suggested that I turn it upside down so the area within the sensor is about 4 off the floor. But even this is not guaranteed to be falsely triggered by pets. Returned the motion sensors and now have to find a way to try and compensate for the lack thereof.

> 3 dayMy 6lb and 10lb cats set off the alarm constantly. When I called customer service, thet told me that because its heat activated that ANY animal will set it off. Basically the marketing line about under 50lbs not setting it off is just a lie. And it used to say 30lbs. They recently increased that rating. Its still not true. Its to the point I dont even set the alarm anymore because there are so many false alarms. Their solution is to turn the sensors upside down and place them so high that even an intruder can walk around your house unnoticed. With their solution, the only way it would trigger would be if the burglar was crawling across the ceiling.

> 3 dayDoes not work for me. I had this in a bedroom with large sunny windows. If I leave a window cracked open with the curtains drawn the alarm will ring if a breeze blows the curtain around. Not sure how since this sensor is supposed to be heat sensing. Does it sense the heat of the sun outside? Of no value to me for a security system.

> 3 dayJust finished testing my new system. Two motion detectors included and both have poor sensitivity when approached directly from the front. Side detection is as advertised. From the front I needed to get within 12 feet for the alarm to trigger. Not a good design.
