I assume ( I am not a scientist) that this filter is filtering. I was very unhappy to see all the carbon dust getting on my hands and clothing as I removed the filter from the plastic covering which was wrapped around both filters. I may be completely wrong, but I would imagine breathing in the charcoal dust cannot be healthy. I would not buy these again and will inquire whether the filters that are actually made by Winnix will also get dust all over you or if it is just from these knockoffs!!

They kept my hands warm even sub freezing days hunting.

These filters are amazing. They fit perfectly in my Winix 5500-2 air purifier and they make the air quality so much better. The HEPA filters are great at trapping allergens and the activated carbon pre-filters help reduce odors. Im so happy with this purchase!

Hate to buy them but they are needed and these work great.
