St James of London Cedarwood & Clarysage Shave Cream Jar, 5.07oz

I am 45 and Ive been shaving since I was a teen, but when my hair started falling out in my early twenties I began shaving my head too. This cream provides nice thick lather on a badger hair brush that flows smoothly onto my face and head providing excellent glide and protection for my face while using my Merkur safety razor. The consistency of the cream isnt runny with proper water use, and about 3/4s a teaspoon goes a long way. The smell of the cedar in the cream is wonderful, but the other scents within the creams makeup provide a crisp clean scent and feeling that lasts throughout the day. Taylor of the Old Bond has some great products, but St. James is definitely a step up to being nearly in the same category of shaving creams by Castle Forbes and Truefitt & Hill without their prices. Great product.

This is a fantastic product. Incredibly economical, take so little to get so much rich lather. Keeps my face comfortable. No cans to throw away. Smells great. This is as close to perfect as it comes. I love it!

This is not the same as the original St. James of London Cedarwood and Clarysage brush shave cream. theyve made this more of a brushless cream that does not lather as well, does not provide the same shave quality and does not last nearly as long. Add to that the fact the company no longer makes the hot towel mask in the same product line. Welcome to corporate takeovers screwing up a time-tested and solid product. Wont be buying this again.

very slick, lots more soap in the jar than you would expect, smells sweet and slightly spicy, a little perfumey, high class. stayed moist, didnt give razor burn, skin is still soft, my other soaps didnt do that. i didnt use the gel or aftershave, yet the scent has remained, lightly spicy all night. i shaved using a thirtys model Gillette open combed razor with dorco blade. open combs keep some of the shaving cream on your face making second passes more smooth. this shaving soap was worth the money.
