First time tapping my trees, I got one leaker, but the spile was fully set. The other spile only went in halfway and is the primary tap/ Nice product, would definitely recommend.

An excellent product. Durability to use for many years

After raking leaves from my maple trees every fall, I finally decided to get something in return from them. I bought these a month ago and this past weekend I finally tapped my trees. I used a 1/4 drill bit and drilled into the trees just a little deeper than the tree-side of the taps. For each tap I ran a plastic tube into a cleaned-out 1-5 liter orange juice container. (Drill a hole into the lid to fit the tube.) I came home from work yesterday to about two quarts of sap. Ill continue collecting throughout the week and will boil down into syrup this weekend. Assuming a 40:1 ratio of sap to syrup, Ill get about 8 ounces....a small amount, but satisfying to know that I have created maple syrup on my own. Next year Ill tap at a more optimum time in the season to increase the yield.

These worked great for collecting syrup. They even work with tubing.

We havent used them yet, but Im very happy with how sturdy, strong and well made they are. I will be ordering more in the future.
