Not really that universal. My 1/4 inch valve wouldnt seat into the socket - had to use a piece from my socket wrench set.

Lost mine many years ago. This one works fine.

This gas key fits the valve stem and operates it, but it doesnt fit very tightly at all. My other gas keys are a much better fit. This might be a consequence of the universal design which aims to fit both 1/4 and 5/16 valves. You may want to avoid the floppy fit by buying a valve key thats sized exactly for your valve.
