It identifies bad storage devices as in the illustrated in the photo as well as utility menu for basic formatting erasing etc. The current updated version firmware is 2.41.7 which can be downloaded in a .bin file from the startech.com website. Once the firmware was updated, there is a clone “whole device” in the settings. I used this for thirty-six (36) 64GB USB 3.0 devices with one (1) file that was about 50GB. 73% in one hour for 5 at a time is a little slow in my opinion. However, I was able to do other functions which saved me time while waiting for the “Beep” when finished I recommend and it is a quality product! Thanks.

> 3 dayThe StarTech 1:5 is easy to use and very fast. I was wondering about buying a larger unit (like 1:10 or more). No need. With the speed of this unit, throughput is very high. I am very pleased with the unit. P.S. I always worried about reusing flash drives. Worry ended as the unit also security erases with ease.
