It definitely requires you to fully take it apart to get it in place. A good pair of split ring pliers is the recommended tool to remove the metal end cap holding the led bulb housing.

Worked great on my stinger HL DS!

This switch boot had the same design as my boot but it dont fit my flashlight. my flashlight needed a smaller version of this boot.

As luck would have it I use my streamlight stinger just about every day and so the button that was on it had developed a tear and of course since it is the holiday season and none of my tool truck guys have been able to show up I needed something for the time being to address the boot. I could have warrantied it but I would have had to wait for awhile.
