Subaru Genuine Hood Prop Grommet - 57253AA010

Putting a little dish soap on the grommet made it much easier to install. Also, install the grommet first, then put the hood rod through it.

This replaced my 2008 Subaru grommet that holds the hood prop to the firewall. I used a little Armor All as a lubricant and a small screw driver to push the edges in with gentle force to get it into place. Perfect fit!

I am glad this piece is even available. Stopped rattling noise from vehicles hood support.

Used it on my wifes 2004 Subaru Outback when the original grommet wore out and fell off. Went in with a bit of fussing about (mainly figuring out which hole it needed to be put in) and problem solved.

Use a heat gun to heat the grommet a little bit before inserting or else you aren’t getting it in there.
