> 3 dayThis replaced my 2008 Subaru grommet that holds the hood prop to the firewall. I used a little Armor All as a lubricant and a small screw driver to push the edges in with gentle force to get it into place. Perfect fit!

> 3 dayHood prop on my wife’s Subaru Outback works just like new. Recommend for all Subaru owners. The rubber wears out and looses its ability to stretch and will start cracking with age.

> 3 dayThis thing worked out perfectly. It was easy to install. Just look around in these reviews for tips on how to make it as easy as possible. Here are a couple I found: 1) use soap on the thing to make it easier to stick it in the hole meant for it as well as to make it easier to stick in the stick through the hole in the thing meant for that; and, 2) install the thing in the hole meant for it first before sticking the stick into that things hole, which youd do after this first step, making this step the second one following that one, step number one. I also used a vice grip set of pliers as the thing wouldnt easily pop into that hole mentioned above meant just for the thing to be stuck in. I was able to force the thing in using said pliers gripping both on the thing and on the metal sheeting surrounding the hole meant for that thing. Then, I just stuck in the stick which stuck in perfectly. Also, you can find a cheaper price perhaps with online Subaru parts dealers but youll probably end up paying 15-20 bucks in shipping just for this little thing.

Greater than one weekUsed it on my wifes 2004 Subaru Outback when the original grommet wore out and fell off. Went in with a bit of fussing about (mainly figuring out which hole it needed to be put in) and problem solved.

Greater than one weekThe thing is rubber. Smells bad, and it tastes worse, and it doesnt matter how much salt, pepper, or butter, (and butter makes everything delicious) I put on it (trust me. Ask me how I know). I would not recommend to to be eaten at all. So Yea, This keeps the prop rod in the proper place in a Subie! The prop rod is very much needed, in the car and used properly because it keeps the front hood up safe- like so it doesnt come down and hit you on the head. Mine hit me on the head already. It really hurt. Do yourself a favor. Just Purchase one of these things, put it in, put the prop rod in where it belongs and save the big bump or your gourd for someone else. Worth every dime. Did I say the hood hit me in the head???
