> 3 dayThought i should give my experience on this. Went camping the other day went to fire up my water heater and it would ignite flame would fire up and after about 5 seconds would shut off. The electric spade had broken off my old electrode. This is an ignitor and flame detector. Old electeode was not detecting flame. Very easy fix 1 screw and hook electric wire back on be careful not to break spade off. 5 minute fix. Hope this helps someone else. Up and running again!

> 3 dayOur water heater just quit without any warning, It would then just click as if it were trying to start, after a couple of tries it would shut down. I suspected it wasnt getting any spark, therefore it wouldnt release any gas. I got this electrode, replaced it in about 1 minute and then the water heater fired right up. Whoo Hooo.

> 3 dayThis fixed my problem for my water heater. After reading some of the reviews I was scared I would need a new igniter board as well. I didnt need it. This did the trick.

> 3 dayI had started shopping new 6 gallon water heaters for my Chinook RV. About $500 when I decided to give this a shot. The ignitor was different, the way it mounted and the direction the prongs pointed (these were up or down, the old one sideways) but after a lot of Macgyvering (a good 30 minutes worth), I got it to mount, and it fired right up. $14 vs. $500. Pretty good deal.
